Hey there, Oval face shapes are able to wear all haircuts. As your face shape is balanced. Fine hair should always be cut short if you want to have an amazing hairstyle, like a Lob, Bob or Pixie haircut

My hair is cut similar to this now and I don't love it. I asked for a trim, and got a trim with face framing. I don't like having shorter pieces at the front and sides. Eager for it to grow out.

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. This haircut is fantastic for fine hair. Remember with fine hair you need to put most of your focus into styling the hair. Nothing beats that feeling of movement in your hair no matter how thick or fine. One thing to consider is the desired length for your client or your own hair.

Hi Siew, i would have to see what you have done to be able to give you a recommendation. If you send me pictures to @hairbyjamesannabel on instagram i will be able to help. To answer your question, you can swap to square or triangular layers if you have enough length

Superb cut. But I have a question for you, sir. You said for your face framing you made a solid line. Then you cut concave layers on the vertical plane using your control length as a guide so as a result : your line is not strong at all. I don't understand your first statement. Can you explain me ?
@HairByJamesAnnabel
Жыл бұрын
When cutting concave on a vertical plane. The hair from the occipital bone done to the nape falls out. Hence we maintain weight. Therefore creating a heavier stronger line compared with all other layering options. If we cut a square line vertically we could have removed maximum weight through the nape, round we would have removed less, and then triangle we would remove nothing. I hope that answers your question
@guillaumecharoy9331

@@HairByJamesAnnabel Thanks for your quick answer. This makes sense regarding the back of the head. But my question was about the round line at the sides at the beginning of your video. Unless I have not watched carefully, it seems that... Sorry, after watching it again, freezing the video at @1:47 now I understand : i thought it was a concave layering all the way but your concave layering removed only a fraction of the graduation (previously made with your line created at low elevation) so you still have a strong outline at the sides.
@HairByJamesAnnabel
Жыл бұрын
@@guillaumecharoy9331 thats it! sorry for any confusion. The forward graduation in the front creates weight and also becomes our guide for the side zones. We don't cut into the guide. This will create a heavier stronger outline compared to connecting the face frame into the layering.
@guillaumecharoy9331
Жыл бұрын
@@HairByJamesAnnabelnow it is crystal clear ! Your forward graduation created a round graduation then you layered it with a concave cutting plan while maintening a decent amount of weight on the perimeter. Thanks again.

Great tutorial! But isn't this a shag haircut?
@RoroRoro-bf3qm

This one has a lot of texture or movement.
@HairByJamesAnnabel
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Nikki thank you so much for your comment, the shake is very similar to a Shag. The difference is a shake has a much heavier outline. Some people would call this a Shag haircut. For me i would never project the hair down (build weight) when cutting a Shag. A Shag is technically a long Mullet with no or little weight in the outline, Shorter in the front and longer in the back. A Shake is slightly less Mullety. Hope that helps. I think today most hair stylist don't know of the shake.
