How to Create Peace in Our World | Andréa Ranae Johnson | TEDxDelthorneWomen

In this compelling Talk, Andréa Ranae Johnson helps us rethink the way we look at peace. And she poses several thought-provoking questions when it comes to our cultural and sociopolitical responses to difference.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDelthorneWomen, where x = independently organized TED event.
With our theme, Collective Liberation, TEDxDelthorneWomen centers the voices that are reimagining a new and just society through a liberatory lens. Not just from a space of dismantling tired, old concepts and fighting oppressive views, but implanting fresh seeds rooted in new imaginings, curiosity and right relationship.
TEDxDelthorneWomen was produced, curated and hosted by Sonali Fiske, a Leadership Consultant to BIPoC and the host of the radio talkshow, Revolutionary Voices. Andréa Ranae Johnson took the personal development and online business industries by storm - challenging transformative leaders to grapple with the ways white supremacy, patriarchy, and classism have informed how we see ourselves, how we engage with each other, as well as how we approach our craft.
She’s become known by thousands as a modern-day philosopher who has the rare ability to deliver tough truths with compassion that doesn’t absolve us of our responsibility to one another. Today, as a singer, writer, and teacher, Andréa uses her platform to openly share her own mistakes, doubts, and breakthroughs in order to show that we are each capable of co-creating the world we dream of. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Peace is the need of the hour. Acceptance of the Other is very crucial in all spheres. People with all kinds of power in their hands must be given an 1-on-1 workshop on peace.

WOW! Bravo! Thank You, You Dear, Dear Lady Andrea Ranae Johnson for Showing Up and taking the time required to form this highly significant and important talk (needs to be seen by everyone, and I've got to google your name). You say it All So Well. Thank You for the invitation to say something back as well. Working together ... requires conversation, (first then action) and, as you so well say, accepting differences ... which I will add (just in case there are those who might think otherwise) ... it's NOT the same as tolerance nor does it have anything to do with accepting actions which cause harm. Thank You also for having the courage to act with conviction, such as the giving hugs, Too many of us can sit and talk all day about what we and/or others can or "should" do ... to few of us actually DO something. MAY WE ALL ... Show Up and Do No Harm. Allow the time required to DO what is Required, THEN, DO what Is Required. May We All Support words and Actions which Lift us All up and empower us All ... Because We All Matter Equally, Always have and Always will regardless of actions of those among that have not figured that out ... YET. Love & Peace to you Andrea and to All
