I also show you how to recolor your text, add a 3D background, plus add blur to your text and text shadow (including a realistic lens blur).

Happy to see you here again! Thanks for your time!
As a user of GIMP for nearly 15 years, I found this tutorial both interesting and fantastic. I still use GIMP for everything - including thumbnails and web layouts (before coding).
man thnx 4 being educative, ur taking mi somewhere
Been watching your videos about gimp for a week and I am sold. I've joined your masterclass education on udemy a few seconds ago and I just came here to tell you that you are a great teacher and a true master of your craft. Thank you for being you man! 👍
Just wanted to say a quick Thank You, Davie. I started photoediting last year and your videos were perfect for starting out. Now I know how to replicate this 3D text within seconds, without watching the video :)
Thanks for this tutorial. It's great that you're posting again, after a little hiatus.

Nice to see you're still doing these :)
This is such a useful tutorial for some ideas of mine I had no idea how to actually pull off. Thank you!
Yes! My best youtuber is come back! Thank you. I love your tutorials.
Your videos really help me understand how to use GIMP. I think your videos are fantastic with great pace and content. Every video you create are seeds which create a return, but sometimes we don't always see it ourselves. Love the Udemy course you created too!
Yes, I agree. Got to see you are back. Was concerned a bit and was thinking of contacting find out if all was well.
Excellent. Thank you Davie
Glad to have you back. It's been a while.
This is great! Should be able to use this shadowing technique with some of my Second Life/Open Sim virtual photos. Thanks!

Hi Davies, congrats as always for your flawless job! can i suggest you to make a video about retro-sci fi art (with heat maps and grain texture)? ;)
nice
hello my friend first of all i wanna thank you too much for such a great effort i have learned a lot from you my question is that how can i apply an image to non plane objects like a cup or a folded paper in gimp ? plz i need the answer
I missed these!
Is there a way to turn on destructive mode so that every stroke of the gradient brush is applied?
Where were you man? I thought GIMP is dead!
Montserrat is a good typeface

Indeed
I though this is going to be like contact/area shadows: start sharp and get unfocused with distance...

You can do this if you use focus-blur on the shadow layer. Change the shape to horizontal and adjust the lines accordingly.
What you think in Gimp when running on Linux environment , I think Gimp is running on Linux perfectly more than windows and also I find more plugins can registering inside gimp easily unlike windows , that is my opinion.
Don't you think GIMP is almost dead? It's better to switch from GIMP to Affinity Photo which is cheaper than Photoshop and much better than GIMP. Nice tutorial btw 👍
