Videos like this have really helped me as a returning rider. After a 35 year bike break returning was a bit scarey as way more cars on the road these days here in UK. Being older and more sensible watching your video has really helped me and now almost 1000 sensible miles later on 900 triple I'm still here to tell the tail. I thank you, very much appreciated J.

i really enjoy your videos. my "first" bike was a 2015 ninja 300 i got last year after i completed the MSF course i tried riding in public but made a sharp turn and totaled the bike i only had that bike for 3 weeks lol and ever since then ive been afraid to ride, but sports bikes are my thing and interest just like sports cars are my dads and brothers thing. SO i decided last month to overcome my fear and i got the 650 bc in the future i wanna get the 636 and watching your videos and other youtubers videos have helped me get over most of my fear and im still struggling with the sharp turns.....keep up with the awesome content :)

6:08, that will cause you to low side because the front tire will slip from underneath you. High sides happen when rear tire looses traction and suddenly regains it, like holding throttle too much / too abruptly in a corner with some sand in it

Looking ahead, paying attention, I agree! Let the bike been seen, assume they can't see you, and be ready for anything. Good tips and it sounds like you're always thinking ahead and ready. Thanks. Definitely a defensive approach which is really important on a motorcycle. With over 70,000 miles experience since 2003, I approach it a similar way with prepared thinking and riding skills to get out of potentially tricky or dangerous situations. Gravel is probably one of the most slippery things I've encountered during early Spring after a cold winter, so I tend to avoid winter riding and also added frame sliders just in case.

I’m happy that how I ride is comparable to someone with that much experience. Seems like I’m doing it right. Thank you bro. I’m excited and preparing for fall rides. I love fall but I know wet leaves can be an issue. And yea gravel will get ya. Had several close calls with the stuff

@@CityNinja650 Cool, thanks City Ninja! Keep up the great riding. I have a 2021 Ninja 650 now which is a great bike, but rode most of the 70,000+ miles between two Ninja 250R's (2003 and 2008) prior to this one, traded each bike in towards the next bike. This 650 though, what a fun improvement in most aspects. It feels more firmly planted on turns with much more torque for climbing hills. I had to remember I don't need as much throttle for a quick 0 to 60 as I did on the 250s. Yes, the gravel during the winter and early Spring especially.

6:16 don't hit the clutch and brakes at the same time if you want to suddenly slow down. Holding in the clutch you're not letting engine braking happen

I appreciate the time and effort you put into helping people out big dawg. Trying to convince my wife to let me get a bike. Rode my brothers gsxr 750 didn’t get out of first but I understood and respected the power. I had never ridden a motorcycle or dirt bike ever so it was a bit nerve racking at first but it came pretty natural to me once I got going around the neighborhood. Beautiful scenery btw!! Wish I had that where I live 😂

I really appreciate the comment sir. Super excited that I’m able to talk about these topics and it is received well. I came from the same background . Never been on a bike or any clutch system before this. I know what you mean when you say it comes naturally too. A lot of people don’t have that and that being said you will grow exponentially with your skills. As far as the mrs lol. Idk about that one lol. I’d emphasize the research and gear for protection. Also study’s show that riding a motorcycle dramatically increases cognitive performance because you are so involved lol. Best of luck and I hope you are able to snag your bike.

When you get it you will ride hrs at a time. Not saying you can’t with the 600 but man it would be hard. I sat on some dudes 600 and man. It’s not even the same game.

@matthewleasure2396 Exactly. You have to ride the 600ccs extremely aggressive. I wanna be able to ride to work and on open roads, be able to flick around at a decent pace. You explained top speed for the 650s is 125 mph, which is more than enough. You can get up to traffic speed very quickly. 0-60mph is 3.5 seconds. And before you explained all that. I was worried about handling and if it feels fast enough with the 67hp and 47 pounds of torque. But all the videos explaining/riding the bike and how easily the 650 can do all of it. While being comfortable and really affordable, I can't go wrong buying this bad boy. Just wanted to say thank you. Definitely subscribed

Is that private or dealership. Honestly I’m not sure. I know they hold their value extremely well so that’s probably a fair price. That about less then a 1,000 miles a year out on it. Probably only had two oil changes. If it’s a private seller see if they would be willing to tell the notary you paid less. To save you on taxes. That’s what I would do. I’d buy it tbh

I went to a dealership rather then private because I don’t know bikes that well . (At that time) so I wouldn’t have known if I was going to get beat or not. They will have their mark ups and taxes and all that which does suck. A brand new one is like 8,400 or something. After everything mine was a bit over 10k
