Tried your recipe with the sour cream, it was the best Sweet Potatoes pie iI ever ever made! I have been making Sweet Potatoes pies for years. I am 76 and have made many many SPP. I just love watching you cook. I learn something new or different everytime. I can't wait to try adding sour cream to my pie. My family always say "just cook it like Mudear use to" but I like evolving my recipes. I love to hear them say "ooohhh this is better than Mudears". then I tell them the surprise...how I added something different or changed the recipe. It's all thanks to YOU❣ 🙂🥰.

I love the way you consider describing things to people who are new to cooking. I am not young but I am new to cooking. I was the youngest of 10 “the baby” and never even saw the kitchen until it was time to eat. Now, later on in my life Mom and Dad are gone, brothers and sisters are few and I’m on my own. People always give me instructions like I should know what they’re talking about and I don’t! Thank you for being patient and remembering us beginners no matter what age. Hallelujah.

@@MaeMaesHappyTable Momma Mae Mae, I know you like to experiment with different seasonings for cooking. But have you ever tried: "Nielsen*Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste"? My 80 something year young put me on to this finally after 20 plus years. So now I use it with anything that I put vanilla in. Candied yams, oatmeal, cakes, pies, etc. If you haven't already tried it, try it and let me know what you think. Keep teaching me... Stay Safe, Thank You, and God Bless! 😁❤🙏🏽

Mrs. Mae you remind me so much of my grandmother. I never thought about she would one day leave us and I never paid that much attention. I sure wish I had paid attention and by now I would be a seasoned cook. I have followed several of your recipes and everyone turn out great. I can never get my beef liver to turn out tender but if you could show us that one day I really would appreciate it. It would always be fork tender. It took me sixty five years to make soft biscuits. Im out camping with my husband, son and grandson in our motor home. I brought 3 sweet potatoes I had baked at home with us, planning to make your sweet potato pie. When this video popped up, I decided to make this recipe! I had to send my husband to the store to get sour cream and nutmeg. My sweet potatoes had the yellow flesh and they’re very dense so I omitted the flour. I didn’t have access to the butter flavoring so I used a couple extra tbsp of butter. Oh my!!! What a delicious pie! The four of us had it two nights in a row with homemade ice cream and devoured it completely! Thank you for your your recipes, I’ve made several of them, including your squash casserole which I froze half of it and brought with us camping! That’s been devoured, too! Delicious 😋❣️

HOWEVER ....we have to have the measurement of how much SOUR CREAM to add to the pie ...say for instance EXAMPLE for every 1 cup of filling you add three tablespoons of sour cream i DO know however i learned from someone else for eggs...its ONE CUP of potato filling to one egg TWO CUPS = two eggs ..etc etc ...

I love it, being from the south but live in the North the word you used, it was scrong! Just brought me back the nostalagia of being in the kitchen with my grandma. Even though I live in the North I have a combined accent of southern and northern. I really enjoyed watching you cook but the speech was more comforting than anything! This makes me cry. Due to quarantine I haven’t seen my great grandmother in a long time and she made sweet potato pie or apple pie for me and my cousins. She texted me a few days ago saying she made some but I feel right at home on just a KZread video

Welp anyway- Awww I know the feeling my granddaughters always spend the summer school with us😔 but I thank God for FaceTime until we reunite again if God willing. Just pray keep the faith that a God will protect us. I always tell my granddaughters when we ended our talks; " Think Happy Thoughts " God bless you and your family 🙏🏿😍

Newgoals Holley sadly I can’t go to her house at the moment. I live maybe 45 minutes and would need to take public transportation but it’s really nice to FaceTime her and see what she wants to chat about

I never did make a sweet Potatoe pie But I did your beef roast in the oven wrapped in foil , it was very nice

Just wonderful I really loved the twist that you added it really makes a world of a different.

You cook just like my grandmothers. my granddaddy, mama, and daddy where excellent cooks, I watched and learned from them and my aunt who turned 100 in April, I am straight country girl and profundity of it, ❤️ you and your husband ❤️❤️❤️❤️ great 👍 videos

I love adding butter flavoring to my sweet potato pies it gives it a buttery taste that you don't get from the butter

Thank you big sister for helping me out. I love cooking souf foodfor my family and they love eating it 🥰
