Hello, Ms. Mae! I just found your channel and it takes me right back home to Alabama. The meals you make, the way you talk, and even the stories you tell such as killing a hog only twice a year sounds just like my folks. I wanted to know where you are from because you remind me so much of home sweet home. I just subscribed too! Thanks for these comforting videos!

Thank you for sharing your turnip recipe. My family grew up on turnips with (dumplings). We never added water to our turnips or cabbage. Love your family stories. Our Turnips and cabbage make their own broth/water when cooked slowly. Makes more than enough broth for dumplings. Never needed additional water. We fry/cook) our meats in pot which makes the oil. Then add salt n pepper. We use cornmeal, green opinions and turnip broth to make dumplings. You recipe sounds very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
