You’re not alone. I have an official Apple adapter powered up via USB and it doesn’t work with iPhone 12 Pro but it works with older iPhones and iPads. Not sure if it’s a iOS version issue or a hardware issue.

Hi Kevin. I have an iphone11. I bought a plug in to HDMI device that has 2 cords; one to a USB for power and the other plugs into the phone. The Miraline page shows on the screen. I can then listen to KZread music but videos get a ‘Something went wrong’ message. Any ideas? 🤷‍♂️

I did exactly what you said I bought the white cable hooked it up to my iPhone. My iPhone comes on my TV but when I turn my phone sideways it doesn’t work and then with other apps when I turn it sideways the pictures upside down so the only way I see a full screen I look sideways at it I’m trying to find out how do I get my iPhone to two full screen?

I see the poster hasn’t bothered to reply. It might be that you need to have the iPhone also connected to power via the same adapter. It needs a Fair bit of grunt to power the video to the tv. And definitely and defiantly don’t do what I did and connect any device to the tv unless the tv is already on. I did this and it fried my laptop battery.

I have this same exact product but I still cannot get it to work…. What am I doing wrong?

That only problem I have is I can only hear what's playing but no picture. Know why? I don't have wifi at my home.

My adapter only works when the charging cable is plugged in. I have an iphone 8. It's not an Apple product and it clearly says to plug in the power. You might want to include this for people who can't figure out why it's not working like myself. Luckilly I did go back to the box and read the setup instructions.

Better than paying for a casting service app. It’s pretty useful, as you cannot cast a lot of entertainment apps, if you’re a guest user.

That was pretty informative, but there’s one thing that you overlooked when you mentioned using Apple airplay or any other means of wirelessly transmitting video and audio. It’s not as good as the cable. An HDMI cable is actually designed to handle more data than a Bluetooth connection. That’s why you don’t get the same sound or picture quality with streaming that you do with a 4K Blu-ray disc for example.

AirPlay transmits over WiFi, not Bluetooth, using your existing WiFi network. If you don't have an available WiFi network, AirPlay can also create a peer-to-peer WiFi connection between your iPhone and Apple TV. It uses Bluetooth only during the connection setup. Both AirPlay and the cable method demonstrated in the video are limited to 1080p.

1080 P and stuff like that. Referred to the picture quality. I’m talking about sound quality. Nothing quite beats a physical Blu-ray disc and an HDMI cable hooked to a TV or sound bar, when it comes to sound quality.

@@mr.tompkins you are referring to screen resolution, but I was talking about audio quality. As for an HDMI cable being limited to 1080 P, that’s no longer true. This is especially true if you’re using a high-speed cable like I do.

You should have done close up of hdmi and other adapter for those of us that aren’t tech savy!

Is it the same for an iPad mini

Yes! The Lightning to HDMI adapter also supports video out for iPad, iPad mini, and iPod touch.

I have all the right equipment yet it doesn’t work….

You can plug your charge cable into the adaptor as well so you can charge your phone while sharing the screen.

If you have iPhone 12 or 12 pro take it to your local apple store and have them get you the right one. It’s complicated but not all of these connectors work with 12 and up

I have the iphone 14 pro. I think I need a different connector that has power in it as well. I saw someone else had success with that

@@Wilhelm9218 it’s not about having power to the adapter. Mine has power and it doesn’t work with my iPhone 12 Pro. It works with my IPad and my iPhone 8 Plus though.

It’s not that easy. Starting with iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro not all of these connectors will work. I bought mine through Amazon and it’s an official Apple adapter. Works fine on older iPhone models but not my iPhone 12. So stupid! Apple needs a kick in the ass.
