For those who don't have earc or arc on their TV's you can purchase the hdfury arcana which makes or non TV's earc....I've bought one for my TV connected to my Sonos arc and it works perfectly I get all the sound codec, From Dolby true, Dolby plus, Atmos, DTS, LPCM 7.1 and 5.1, for those who don't have the cash to fork out for a new TV the hdfury arcana cost you only $299 aus dollars.

Love your videos bro … quick question I have Apple TV 4K, JBL 9.1, LG CX so I am able to connect ATV thru soundbar but noticed it’s not RGB signal it brings up the YCBCR. Just wanted your input on this which should I do? Since ATV can do up to 120 (not yet) but will. Not sure if I want to sacrifice the video for supposedly better audio if I plugged it thru soundbar. Hey Josh, my new Vizio M-series 5.1 with Dolby Atmos do I plug my Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen hdmi to Sound bar “hdmi in port” and the SB ARC hdmi out to my old 2016 Samsung 4K tv or ATV to TV and by pass Vizio SB?

We have a newer tv that has e/arc port for the sound bar. Is the rear speakers being blue tooth a performance sacrifice to having the sub and rear speakers wired?

I have an eArc soundbar with 4K and a normal ARC TV. My setup is playing videos from an external device (laptopl) I am running and HDMI through the soundbar and then from soundbar to the TV HDMI. This way I get the Atmos sound and the soundbar transmits the video to the TV.

Earc hdni fiber 48gb cables have a source and display side but the display and the source are coming from the TV net flix, Disney, even a usb. So what side do I plug into the TV and what side do I plug into the sound bar?

Quick question, can you still get atmos via standard arc although not the lossless version? Looking at the Bose 900 as an alternative to the built in atmos speakers of my Panasonic GZ 2000. Thanks!

Yeah, you can get Atmos through the Dolby Digital Plus format. I had a look at the specs on your TV and according to flatpanelshd.com it can process Atmos through the ARC port. 😀

When I turn the tv off at night & I’m the morning the soundbar turns on but no sounds so I would have to unplug the power from the soundbar and plug it back and thin I get sounds. Crazy I’ve had it for 2y but now I don’t have warranty on it.☹️

I've got a Nvida shield between the connections you mentioned here. Trouble is the voices are very soft compared to everything else. ( older setup and TV )

@@archwaytech I'm just making do till own new house is built then I'm just in with good stuff for now i've got a bauhn atv50-014 tv was has arc hdmi the nvida shield has a hdmi plug and sound bar has av plugs and a optical port. I've got the soundbar av's connect to TV av's and shield hdmi to tv arc hdmi

Oh cool 😄 nothing wrong with using what you’ve got 😊 I’d plug the Nvidia shield into any of the hdmi ports on the TV, doesn’t have to be arc. Plug the soundbar in via an optical cable if you’ve got one as that’ll give you the best audio quality over the av cables. If you don’t mind using the soundbar remote for volume then that’s Algood otherwise look at getting the universal remote I talked about as that’ll consolidate them into a single remote. You said you were having issues with voices- the optical cable will definitely help as the AV cables can only do 2 channels of audio whereas you need the third channel for great dialogue. Do you know how many channels your soundbar has?

Thx for advice soundbar is 2-1. I'm looking forward to a review on the Sony HT- a9 and sw5 sub. Short of you giving it bad review I'm heading down that path.By time my house is done they may be easy to get.

HDMI ARC in my experience is less reliable than Digital Optical unfortunately. It's a toss up in the air to see if the sound bar (Bose 900) will produce sound from the TV. If it doesn't I have to unplug the sound bar, then wait for 30 seconds, plug it back in, let it boot up, and then press the TV button on the sounder remote. This became such a hassle, I just opted for Digital Optical and I have ZERO issues with it. I'm wondering if it's the TV (not a popular brand 4K TV, Sceptre with ARC), the cable, or the communication between devices is just lacking :/. Its a shame cause I would like to upgrade to a tv with eARC but if this is an issue, I would rather sacrifice dolby atmos codec for ease of use with digital optical to be honest.

What if the sound bar has HDMI ARC & Your Vizio TV only has HDMI eARC am I still able to connect them both together or do they have to be the same ARC??

Arc and eARC are backwards compatible… you can connect an eARC TV to an Arc Soundbar.

@@archwaytech the only option is Arcana? My tv has only ARC (no eARC). Arcana is quite expensive. I wonder why it's not possible to connect it directly to a graphic card.

@@pawekrawczyk6625 The Sonos Beam doesn't have an HDMI input which you need to connect your graphics card too. The HDMI connection on the Beam is an HDMI OUT which is for connecting to your TV. The Arcana gives you the HDMI IN required. There are other soundbars on the market that have HDMI IN and HDMI OUT which don't require the Arcana
