By crimping the tube intermittently and breaking the syphon just when the sand is risen to say half the height of the bottle will avoid it going out. This method helped to reduce the syphon time to about 30%

Very informative video for me because I am using sand in my tank for almost five years without any problem. I also use this technique during my mentanence.. Thanks for making this video because many people facing the problem with using sand substrate but they can't solve their problem. Anyway they can now get rid of the problems... Hi Mr.Mayur you have been an excellent mentor for many of us hobbyist. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge practically. Theres this one doubt bugging me right through, do I need to switch off the canister filter while feeding the fish? Because I feel every time the fish aren't well fed as the canister sucks away most feed. Also how frequent do I need to do a water change with a canister filter in use?

Hi Ashrin. My logic: Let the canister take away the uneaten food. If left in the tank, it will lead to a higher ammonia load. And it's not a good practice to let the food be sitting in the tank waiting to be eaten. So let someone eat the food, either fish or canister.

all gravel takes the same amount of cleaning, there is no easy cleaning gravel, you can use any that will not change the water pH

I always using purigen it's very good results for water quality

Hi need your urgent advice I have got 2 mangrove Jack fingerling from the river to keep as pets but I don't know what to feed them. I tried cut prawns but they are not eating it. What else can I feed them

Make sure the water is brackish, temperature, pH are all right, also lot of hiding space, and you will need to feed live food, like brine shrimp, worms etc
