The muck on the Mike was actually the the fine wire grill destroyed by the tooth pick, looked like hair but was actually wire from the ex mesh.

Before wet cleaning it dry clean it loosen all the dirt then you can wet clean them plus On the wet cleaning your brush won’t get gunk on it so fast and easily

Something that really helps getting that tough dirt is using nail polish remover. Beware tho since it is highly corrosive and can affect the paint of ur airpods.

Not hair but more of like a mesh wire type thing for the speakers/mic

I had some jeans stain on the case and I used some Vim with a some toilet paper and it removed it all in 2-3 wipes :)

The gray thing by the mic is actually like a layer of something to help protect it. It isn’t hair lol mine did the same exact thing.

The apple airpods are all white and they are very hard to keep 100% clean

You can not remove those magnetic dusts. Some are already scratched into the plastic from the cover rubbing over and over

It is scratched into the plastic, if you insist on removing, probably go with 400 grit sandpaper? Kind of risky though of sanding off too much plastic. Becareful!

Honestly I think it’ll still work if you just pour the alcohol onto your toothbrush. Though it may be more efficient to spray the AirPods/airpod case with the alcohol, I don’t think it’s absolutely needed.

I wonder how the hair got into the airpods?

I put mine in soap and water They are clean but no longer work 😂

You can use MULTI PURPOSE CLEANER or GLASS CLEANER (like Windex) but I hate they way the smell

We use 65% proof alcohol (rubbing / cleaning alcohol). Alcohol at this strength does not break the airpods (I have clean my airpods like this about once per month).

the corners are my worst nightmare i can’t get them to be fully clean it bothers me

I don't think scubing the black stuff with a razor going to clean it, because that part is magnet and I think you need different tool to get rid of dark stuff with a magnet

The black stuff is metal fragments like iron that can come from dirt and debri which adheres to the magnet it’s a pain to remove 😕

I tried all methods including yours and it’s still stained 😂.. Why the magnetic dust not cleaned? Doesn’t work

Less strong probably vinegar and water. More strong probably (acetone) nail polish remover.

The dust/dirt are stuck good into the plastic because of the opening closing friction. No way to simply get them off, have to use razor blade or sand paper.

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

The airpods are made of plastic, I would just use Windex (glass cleaner) to clean the outside plastic surfaces.

immediately went to the store for alcohol and another toothbrush and cleaned mine sound like new now 🦆🪄✨
