Moe’s questions and the way he speaks on behalf of the viewer is what’s been missing from this channel. Been a subscriber for years and this is the most concise explanation of value based pricing yet.

Pricing is such a powerful reflection of our inherent self-value. Theres so much beauty and struggle on the path of embodying clarity and confidence in pricing creative work well. Embody the self-value you want to charge.

As a muralist, I would like to make a note about the argument related to time, quality and cost. Brush murals take longer to produce BUT they are also higher quality than spray painted murals because of the quality of paint - spray can paint is low quality, fades faster thus limits longevity. Now the issue of projection vs grid is not necessarily about quality but still brings up the issue of value. The grid takes longer than projection. But let’s be REAL, anyone can trace a line. When people see murals of people and they are so impressed with how “well-done” they are, I always wonder if they realize they are traced. When I found out how even my mentor was using a projector to render her portraits, I have to say, it really made me think less of her ability as an artist. But does the general public care about the process, or just the look of the final result? And if folks only care about final results or longevity why don’t we throw out paint all together and just put up vinyls of designs generated with Midjourney? Why bother with paint and artists?

Here I cite an example of Apple. To help the prospect understand the intangibles. I ask if he’s committed to this to check in. I don’t believe this is justifying. We don’t need to do this. Only if the client cares.
