How to Change the Side Badges- BMW Z3!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today we use viewer's suggestions to change the newly delaminated driver's side badge without gouging the gills! i deleted my previous video where I damaged the gills (a little). This method works much better!
Please send me pics and descriptions of your cars for Zed of the Week! Send a few high quality jpegs (landscape/16:9 format) and a brief description (year, engine, transmission, work done, etc.) as well as where you're from (and your name!) to:

Congratulations on a clean removal! And great video! The plastic strap idea seems to work better than when I used thick dental floss. Although you were clearly quite careful and smart with your movements, I would suggest to some viewers to use a short wooden/stick or plastic dowel cut slightly shorter that the width of the palm to create their handles for the fishing line idea. In the event that the line snaps, it could potentially cause the hand to hit car with sharp metal. If the hand slips with the suggested shortened dowel, the dowel likely won't make contact with paint work. And even if you dent the car with your hand, paintless dent repair is arguably better than having damaged paint.

Thank you for all videos you have made and all tips you have given. I am watching you since I have purchased my 1999 1.9 Z3 a month ago. I had problem with my seatbelts as well, thanks to you it is sorted now; have washed them, lubricated and put new plastic clips. Soon going to change front badge as well. Any ideas how to clean headlights, they started to look a little unclear and foggy, please? All the best to you, keep making great videos 👍👍👍🚗

Sad to say I just let mine go chrome after almost 20 years. I replaced them with a cheap set lasting a few years then a real BMW set to have them last under a year then back to the cheap set to only give up letting it go chrome round. She is such a beautiful car that it doesn't take away from the beauty of the Z3.

Not bad technic, but i removed the grill. Its easy, open hood, use pliers to squeez plastic things and remove one screew. Now you can push the badge pins and later carefully pray open it from grill. No hurry. With new badge i welded pins, second time it will be easier to remove badge. Have fun :D

Probably too late, I have a 98 Z3 2.8 so not sure if the bulbs are ganna be the same. But here goes; Side marker light is just a standard wedge style bulb, looks to be a T10 wedge. Turn signal is a 1156 OSRAM makes the OEM one, FCP sells them for less than a dollar each. Reverse light is also a 1156 Brake light is hard to tell. It says 93 12V15CP Taiwan on the bulb, but looking that up doesnt yield results. It appears a 1156 fits in the socket though. Running light is a 5007 , it says on the bulb in mine 5007 R5W 12V E4 37R 2LR, not sure what half those numbers mean. My car doesnt come equip with a bulb in the last spot, so I have no info on that. I believe its a rear fog light, which isn't required in America, and thus, not equipped with it. None of the bulbs have any tint, the brake light lens takes care of the color changes.

Hey Mark, Wes from Phoenix, AZ here… do they make something that doesn’t have laminate issues or do you just have to plan on replacing emblems from time to time as they’re worn away by the elements?
