after watching videos on youtube, i was able to disassemble the door, take out the windows and replace the entire regulator in 45 minutes per side. i found out that there is a cheap bushing that the window motor shaft rests in that can cause your sticking problem too. when that bound up, the motor was so powerful that it bent the regulator mechanism, broke the mounting bracket in the door. it actually dimpled the door itself! if your door window is sticking, i highly recommend you not only replace those nylon gliders but also the regulator bushing. if it wears it causes the gears to become out of alignment. it's only a $2.00 part but caused me to replace the regulators at $200.00 each

I get it. But some things to think about- no one makes or will make anything like it again. The feeling you get when you drive it will be gone. Do people stop and ask you what you're driving? Do they say "Hey cool car!" ? Not anymore. I'm not making you feel better am I? Hope you change your mind and stay in the community. This isn't a sales site, but if you'd like me to feature the car on Zed of the Week, I'll mention you are letting it go. Would be nice for it to go to someone else in the community!

@@MomentofZedThanks for sharing. The trim around the door handle sliding to release is something many people might not realize. However, I would not use metal pry tools on the door like the guy in the video did. Plastic non-marking pry tools are cheap at Harbor Freight and work very well. I replaced a window regulator in my old E39 540i M Sport Six Speed. The door card was marginally fussy, but relatively easy to work out the nuances of removal.

@@MomentofZed I checked into it and the staggered setup with these wheels will work on the Z3. I think it is something like 7.5" 46 offset in front and 8.5" 50 offset rear. Some put up to a 20mm spacer in the rear. It does alter the handling, some like it, some don't. Those with larger engines tend to like it more. Most everyone thinks it looks way cool. I like the way mine handles now, don't want to risk the investment for something I may not like.
