What took you 45 minutes to complete took me 4 days just to remove the agitator, because my unit had a bolt that was rusted solid to the top of the transmission. My current struggle is with removing the inner tub, which is, you guessed it, rusted solid to the transmission shaft. Ah, the joys of DIY repairs. I hope I can get this done before I run out of clean underwear! LOL

Exactly the question I had as a repair vid was shown on a non Gallery model. I'll have to haul the whole thing outside to fix it and I also thought it would be a hell of a lot more if I had to dissect the whole body to get the tub out. Parts are on the way. Thanks Much! Hey Jason, once you have the inner tub out, is it hard to replace the tub seal? Do you just remove the 2-bolt shaft clamp, exposing the tub seal, and lift the seal up and off? Or is the actual seal replacement process trickier? Do you need to fabricate an installation tool out of plastic pipe to install the new tub seal?

  • @YoDoonie

I would think that the seal is faulty or has been replaced crooked. The bearing itself could be bad but it wouldn't let water through. Normally the seal goes bad first, then the bearing goes bad due to it getting wet. So I would recheck the seal installation and condition. Hope this helps!

Sorry about that. You have to remove the bottom front cover of the washer by taking the 2 screws off at the bottom, and then the cover slides down to unclip the top, and then will come off. Then, there are 2 screws holding the top cover on- once you remove the front cover of the washer, you can see where the 2 screws that hold the top cover on. Once those 2 screws are off, the top cover slides forward and off. Lastly, you have to unplug the lid switch for the washer lid. Hope this helps.
