did you have to re flash your tune? also what mileage is this at? i have a 2020 tuned stage 2+ and my battery volts are really fluctuating from 14.3 down to 10.9 so i think a new battery is in my future

Life saver 🙌 thanks the black plastic tip drove me nuts. I was about to just cut it off, though you helped. Appreciate your content. 2021 wrx owner. Cheers
Thanks for the vid! I'm finally replacing my factory battery out of my '15 STI. Still working fine but I'm just replacing it due to age and the approaching cold weather! 7 years is pretty good! Guess I got lucky! 😄
I was stumped when I got to the part about the battery tie down post in the front. I couldn't remember where it was hooked when I took the old battery out. Your video helped. I like your style. Right to the point and a good message. The last video I watched the guy spent more time bitching about not having air conditioning in his house and how hot it was in his garage and didn't even show the tie down anchor points! What a jerk!

exactly why I came here. I was aiming for one of the holes in the front and couldn't get it so just hooked it to anything it could grab
Thanks for bringing up the fact that the ECU defaults back to the factory tune when disconnecting the battery. I'm replacing mine this week and did not think of this (I knew the radio and such would reset, but not the tune!)
Thanks a lot for the video, I looking to see how to remove that plastic piece (with the zip tie) and this helped :)
What is the wire right next to the part that connect to the battery on the positive side. It’s the ribbed black wire, I just noticed mine is broken
original battery had 390 cold cranking amps? seems would have little reserve capacity, also what is the "fuse resistor" for in the positive terminal? thanks!
Thank you 🙏 i had the same issue with that front battery tie down post. Also gotta wonder why Subaru uses Panasonic batteries? Their regular batteries are cheap AF, so why would I want that in my car? Anyway thanks
Hi. Need some help. I have a 2018 WRX Limited with an OEM Subaru battery. Electrical system and battery have been fine up till now; no electrical issues at all. I just wanted to clean the corrosion around the terminals. I disconnected both terminals, cleaned them up, and then reconnected it all back at it was. Now I'm having a problem with the Starlink Infotainment system only; every other electrical is good. The radio system will not reboot/restart. The progress bar reaches the end and then starts over again. What gives? Is this typical if you were to change a battery? Is there a way to reset the Starlink radio? There are not options to select, nor does it ask for a radio code. The backup camera works just fine. I tried disconnecting the terminals again, but no luck. Any suggestions?
? I have stage 1 also did you have to reflash?
Hows the battery doing so far?? Is it hella better than the stock batt?
Another great video. Costco batteries. 70 dollars. Happy holidays Subie Dad 🎁
my car doesnt lose tune from a dead battery from cobb as well
I've got a question. What if your new battery has those plastic caps near the terminals? I bought a super start battery and it's got those two vents up near the terminals and they sit perfectly in the way such that my negative clamp can't sit flush against the battery. I jimmyrigged it up so its on, but not secure enough for me to feel comfortable. Turned the car over and now the check engine light is on with a flashing cruise control sign. I dont even know where to start.
Your channel name is clickbait lmao I thought it said “mark rober” and I was like “nice since when does he do car stuff?” Haha appreciate the info man
Shoutout to the COBB Stage One.
that plastic clip did not release with ease, i had to melt it off regardless of pushing the tab to the center

Wait not the cap on the negative wire? You don’t have to remove that to remove the wire from the post. I almost made the mistake of removing it before I noticed the real reason that won’t come off is because of the lube on the post being so sticky and dry.
That tab you mentioned @2:22 won’t come off she’s stuck or am I weak lmao
need or no need to reset ecu or others after replacement?

probably need radio code?

Actually just changed mine , a 2011 wrx hatch and it didn't need a radio code
How do you take the terminals off though.. the only thing I watched this for and the only thing you skipped🙄🙄
Starts at 2:10
So if I disconnect the battery I lose my whole tune and have to get it retuned?

I’ve just come to the issue of a whole bunch of error codes flooding my dash, the car is stuck in sport mode and the passenger windows don’t wind down from the drivers side control

You have to reset the windows every time you disconnect the battery. It's easy I don't know about sport mode though.
Worst camera angles, this was not informative
