    Great video. Tbh, at first I was wondering the need for more WRX/ST install and maintenance videos but yours are really good for beginners as you don’t skip steps and assume someone knows some of these steps. Could have used some of these videos starting out. Keep up the good work!

    Change em every 30k if modified. Sometimes even sooner. Just like oil changes, gear oil changes , and coolant changes. Do it all in half the recommended time, and the car will last forever. Never be cheap when it comes to a car!!

    I really don’t feel like doing the work. But i got quoted like $2500 in labor to do oil pan, AOS, spark plugs, cyl4 coolant and mod flush all fluids. I think ima just take a day off and do it all at once. I have a bootleg catch set up so I’ll prob hold off on AOS.

    I can't seem to get the coil pack and boot back into cylinder 4. Is there a drawing on how to do it? How much are you bending the boot? Thanks for the video.

  • @STi_Alan

    @STi_Alan

    2 ай бұрын

    I wish there was a drawing of how to do it but it's kind of just a bad design of how little space you get for cylinder 4. I kind of had to put it on with the bolt on the coil pack facing the wrong way and once it was on I could rotate it properly. It took a few tries to get the perfect angle when putting the coil pack back in but once you get it, it should go on without too much of any extra force

    Cylinder 4 might require a bit of extra maneuvering and patience. I was able to get the coil pack in with the bolt facing the wrong side in order to get the boot over the spark plug, then I could rotate it to the correct position

    Plz becareful how you angle the universal swivel because if you don’t have it at the right angle you might crack the ceramic or worse pit to much tension on the spark plug and cause a big headache.

    I dont see anybody talking about resetting the throttle or idle or any of that after removing the battery. Do the 19+ STI's relearn everything on its own or you have to do something to it?

  • @STi_Alan

    @STi_Alan

    Ай бұрын

    While things like the accessories, (time/date, passenger window etc.) will have to be reset when removing the battery, the ecu will relearn on its own as you drive and the tune will not be affected

    @@STi_Alan thank you brother! I did my spark plugs recently and the car’s throttle acted funny for a few miles. I read somewhere that the throttle position had to relearn. The idle as well. It’s been great since! The spark plugs aren’t as bad as people say, you just have to get creative and/or be good at Tetris lol

    It’s literally a b**** to get it aligned correctly. The boot has to slide over the plug and when you can’t see anything it’s a nightmare. Have a lot of patience and use some lube to get the sleeve to slide easily over the plug. Good luck.
