WHAT IS THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON A KIA SOUL?
Cabin air filters, also know as A/C air filter, help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter, or ac air filter, can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Kia Soul passenger compartment location.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON A KIA SOUL?
It is recommended that you replace your cabin air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year. However, you may want to replace or change the cabin filter in you Kia Soul more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies or has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Kia Soul on dirt roads or in an excessively dusty location
WHERE IS THE CABIN FILTER ON A 2020 - 2021 KIA SOUL?
The cabin filter is located behind the glovebox.

HOLY SMOKES - that filter change is SOOOoooo simple. The dealership made it sound like they have to sacrifice a goat to get this done. What a cakewalk.

I probably paid too much for the filter, $29 bucks at Auto Zone. (they claimed it was the “heavy duty” filter because they were out of the regular one. But it was still much cheaper than the price the dealer wanted. The only caveat I offer is that the sticker with the arrows pointing down were not in the front but on the side on the filter. Once I figured that out everything else went smoothly. Also, The side latch didn’t just pull out as shown on the video. It had to be squeezed quite vigorously to get it to release. All in all still pretty easy process. Great video which saved about $50 bucks over having the dealer do it!! Thanks!

Thank you! I found pressing the sides of the glove box a little challenging to get it to release so I got it as far as I could with 2 hands then eased it out on either side. I am so proud I saved the dealership cost which was way over what I paid for a filter at Avanced Auto. Maybe because I am a girl who knows nothing about cars but I can follow good directions and read just fine. Thanks again.

Caveat, apparently when the filter housing was assembled, or when being installed into the dash, they poorly aligned the left side where the air filter door's tab goes in. When I removed it that tab was already broken, hanging my a thread of plastic. I superglued it, but when reinstalling the air filter door the tab could not be inserted, due the misalignment. I had to break it again to close the door, and ended up using thin strips gorilla tape above and below the where the tab is, which was a task to bend a finger around to stick it to something way back there. I've changed many over the years, and while this is by far the easiest --thanks to your video-- it is also the first time I ran into a problem. Surprisingly, with all the autumn tree stuff and massive amounts of spring pollen (two years of spring) seemingly going down into the intake vent in the windshield wiper area below the windshield, there was hardly any in the filter or visible around it. If I could easily remove the cover from the outside, I suppose there will be tons of debris somewhere in there...

Got a Fram filter on Amazon for $14 says it will last for 2 years, but I have severe asthma and allergies and will change it annually.

There are OEM kia filters but any brand will work
dealers are a joke...mine wanted 45 bucks(!) today to replace it.
