I had a code P050A . It was bad sparkplugs. 2016 Soul .

That code indicates that there is a problem with the Idle Air Control valve.
I'm surprised you didn't put any anti-size on the threads of the plug.

Great observation. I live in a dry climate and have never used antiseize on spark plugs. If you live in an area with high humidity and / or weeks of annual snow, then yes, antiseize is recommended.

Those plugs are in for a good 100 to 120,000 miles antiseize would make it so much easier to remove!@@protipsplus
do i need the rubber hose? or is that just to make it easier? i plan on changing mine out. dealership wants $144 to change them out.

The rubber hose helps to keep you from cross threading the spark plugs and the engine ... If you can't screw it down fairly easy or it gets stuck after a turn or two take it out and look at the sparkplug to see if it is damaged on the threads...
How did you take off the top cover or engine cover? Does it just snap off and on or are there bolts holding it down?

I’ve seen that it is .40 but my plugs came gapped at .33 That is definitely a difference

The firing order for the 2.0L Atkinson Cycle (G4NH) version of the Nu MPi 2.0L is 1-3-4-2. This is worthy of a Super Thanks.
2022 and already burning oil in cyl #1 ?

Has it been diagnosed as burning oil? Or is it just leaking near cylinder 1?

Leaking gasket on the valve cover .
