    As somebody who’s new to OK and new to boating , you’ve given me sooo many great ideas to start catching some fish. I don’t have spot lock or live scope yet but I’m hoping to catch some striper bouncing it off the bottom like I’ve seen you do in your other videos. If I catch just 2-3 all day I will be happy. Would be a dream to fill a cooler like you do, WOW!!!!!!

    @crc1785 thanks a lot for your nice comment. We truly want people to catch more fish and have every intention to let people know exactly what we are doing. Fishing has brought my boys and dad together close and I want the same for other people.

    Oh man, I was out there just a couple days ago. A storm was rolling in that evening, looks like it might be the same day. Tons of boats out. Was in the middle of catching shad when my starter solenoid went out. So frustrating. I figured they might be hitting that day. Good job! Hope to catch you on the water one day!

    Great trip! WTG GUY! I forgot to mention when I text you last week...the splasher turned them on! We were over the school for about 20 minutes without a bite until I turned it on! Texas limit is 5 per person, two of us limited out in 35 minutes with many doubles with all sizes coming over the side!

    @@BooneBoys All kinds of sinkers. Bank, river, pyramid, no roll, egg, cannon ball, etc. I have 25+ different types of molds. (I hope my wife won't see this comment.) The bait shop is at the corner of County Street 2550 and E 1280 Rd. If you're headed south and you drive by the golf course, you come to that place where there are 3 roads, one down into the camping / day use area, I think it's Sycamore, the other is across the damn and then the last one is County Street 2550. Go on that to the next intersection. 28009 County Street 2550, Fort Cobb, OK 73038

    As a new striper and hybrid fisherman I appreciate your videos! Did you say you are using 20lb braid and a 30lb mono leader? That was my plan as far as using braid as the main line with a mono or fluorocarbon leader but heard that for downlines with live bait they will feel the braid and spit the bait quicker than with mono. Whatever you are doing clearly works!

  • @BooneBoys

    @BooneBoys

    Some poles have 20lb braid, some have more. Since we fish for walleye and other species we vary. If I was going only hybrid and striper I would do 25lb or so green braid and no lighter than 30lb flouro for leader. I’ve never broke a 30lb leader on clean line and we horse fish a lot to keep them from tangling up lines. We’ve broke a lot of lines that are less than that. Some people will put last 10ft or so flouro, but unless your water is super clear I wouldn’t worry about doing a long line of flouro. We have one pole on boat with flouro only in case we struggle catching fish on some lakes just in case fish see line.

    We just came back from Texoma last weekend and tried several mornings trying to find shad. Seems like shad is hard to locate period. Any tips on finding them if you don't have a livescope? I saw on your latest video they were in very shallow water at Ft. Cobb. We see bait balls on our sonar, but we just can't seem to get to them fast enough on the open water.

  • @BooneBoys

    @@jenniingram7971 typically you’d want to be there catching bait around 4:00am right now to give you an hour or more before it’s starts getting light to find and catch bait. If you get lucky you can see them flicker on top in calm weather, but when it starts getting light many times bait scatters from shallow to deeper. But you need to get in 12’ or less or they will evade the net. Most guides are by boat docks catching bait or creek channels. In the winter you can throw taped nets in deep water and the bait just aren’t as spooky and you can drop it on them.

    @@jenniingram7971 sometimes bait is really hard to find at Texoma, but from what I’ve heard there is plenty right now.
