Fished through the rain Saturday morning on Liberty. Got soaked to the bone (phone just tried to autocorrect that to Boone 😂) but caught a mess of crappie and sandies using minnows on a drop shot. Also tossed around my cast net and got a bunch of gizzard shad as a first for me. I’m ready for a bait tank now.

  • @BooneBoys

About 60 degrees or so in the summer. You don’t want to make it too cold, then they will be in shock hitting the lake and kind of freeze up and look dead. Then usually perk up in 10 seconds or so. Don’t know anybody that’s done that, just heard 🤣

That was an incredible day and worth remembering. Great weather in the 80s, sun wasn't on us, and the bite was solid. Watching the lake boil white perch was an experience. They don't always run water but when they are it's usually a good sign for the bite. Thanks again for letting me tag along with you and your boys and coming this far out of your way to visit a new lake. Hope we can do it again in the fall when the bite is berserk.
