    Fun fact about pumpkins you buy from the store: because they're grown in close proximity to one another, each pumpkin is a veritable powder keg of genetic variability. Suppliers dont expect you to grow from the seeds inside so if you do, you'll likely get a completely unexpected variety of pumpkin or squash next year that looks nothing like the one from this year.

    It's wild that anyone would suspect Ben of ignoring Poggers and Queen. Most people don't work from home and leave their pets alone for upwards of 8 hours a day. Not to mention it's obvious that not only are they working dogs (the happiest kind of dogs) but that they absolutely adore Ben and have tons of socializing.

    I vote for the name Lean Beef Patty! Also, it caught my attention when you mentioned that the plant life around the pond doesn't seem to want to stay alive - have you tried planting cattail or native grasses from your area? There's a really great video titled "50 Years Ago, This Was a Wasteland. He Changed Everything | Short Film Showcase" - It's about a fella in Texas who has been ecologically restoring an area, and was able to restore water to an aquifer through his use of native grasses. It's been a really helpful starting point for me in my interest in ecological restoration/conservation in Texas, but is just in general is helpful for understanding what to plant in riparian zones (areas along creekbeds, rivers, etc, basically the banks - like around your ponds!). If you can get some native grasses established around your ponds, that could maybe help with the quality of the water and mitigate how quickly it drains in the ponds you don't have liners for. :) Thank you for making your videos, you've been a big inspiration!

    Big Ounce is not only an adorable little boy loved by humanity. He must be the Lords favourite creature seeing how healthy and full of life he is. Seeing Gustavo so feisty makes me incredibly happy. This boy was so neglected and look at him now… he became a little finger biting, fish hunting terrorist. 😄 Uncle Ben you and your gang are doing great work. My family is getting a bit fed up with me showing them your videos at random moments. But hey nobody can get enough good Urban Rescue Ranch vibes.

  • @budgillett

    @budgillett

    7 ай бұрын

    Dear Lili, Thy delightful sentiments resonate deeply with the profound truth that all of God's creatures, great and small, have a divine purpose and are cherished by Him. As it is written in the scriptures, "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God" (Luke 12:6). Big Ounce's transformation from a neglected state to one of vibrancy and vigor is a testament to the Lord's love and the miracles that can transpire when His children extend compassion and care. Gustavo's spirited nature, as thou hast so vividly described, is a manifestation of the rejuvenating power of love and care. It brings to mind the Apostle Paul's words, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Thy appreciation for Uncle Ben and his commendable work is a testament to the light and goodness that can be found in the world, even in the simple and humble acts of caring for God's creatures. And verily, even if thy family may jest at thy frequent sharing of Urban Rescue Ranch tales, the joy and lessons these stories bring are undeniable. May we all be inspired by such tales to seek out the downtrodden, the neglected, and the weary, be they man or beast, and extend unto them the love and care that the Savior has shown unto us. With brotherly affection and a heart warmed by thy words, Bud

    Man, it sucks that construction on your house is taking so long. I'm a carpenter and I feel sorry for customers who are handled like this. I can tell you it sure doesn't feel like an "honest job" like I was told it was. Thanks in large part to you, I am on my way out of the trade. Your videos helped me remember my love of animals and our planet while showing me that you can follow your heart, quit the crap job and change your life for the better. Thank you for inspiring me to work towards going back to school, and hopefully get a job or volunteer somewhere I can use that love and passion. God bless.
