How to Care For Your Wooden Cutting Board (Use Mineral Oil)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you cook at home, you probably use a wooden cutting board. I show you how to make them last using Mineral Oil and Board Cream. It's fast, affordable, and honesty kind of fun!

Excellent sir! Great picture quality. Great sound quality. Your rate of speech and energy were perfect, awesome use of silent pauses. No verbal pauses used ("uhms" and "ahs" . . . maybe there was one, but it was so minimal as to be “unnoticeable”). Great music (not used when you were speaking...thank you!) Loved the wife cameo at 0:48. Creative camera angles (up close shots, that spinning, twisting, off-kilter shot at 3:25 with back-lighting. Gold.) Terrific lighting (brightness, creative changes in lighting, etc.) Creative scene transitions (0:57, 3:13, 3:30, 3:36, etc.) Whispered at the night scene (very apropos). Clear comparison between the two boards. And your content exactly matched your title! You should add an Amazon Associates link for the mineral oil and cream in the description box so you can get some credit (and money) from the sales! I generally lose interest in most KZread videos after the first 30 seconds (actually, after the first 5 seconds). Yours, on the other hand, I could watch three times straight without fatigue or loss of interest. My only critique is the ring lighting reflected in your eyeglasses and was ever so slightly distracting. A soft box with a diffuser might have been better. Thank you for your creative energy. Were every video on KZread this well-made and informative . . . the world would be a very enjoyable place.

Wow! Thank you for the kind words and for noticing the work that I put into it. (Also thanks for noticing the ring light reflection in my glasses. It bothers me too and a soft box is one of those items on the budget/wish list). I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Have a blessed day 🙏

@@TravisBlue1 No, thank you! Yeah, I just watched it again. Really great. I went ahead and bought the Boos Lock Cream and am treating my pizza peel right now (already had mineral oil).

I’d recommend lightly sanding the old cutting board first, wash the dust off and let dry thoroughly, then oil and wax. Big difference. Oh, and warm up both the oil and the wax cream before you apply them

This lone video made me subscribe! I have NO IDEA what your content even is -- but, your wife popping-in & making that comment FORCED me to subscribe immediately -- mostly because you seem to be very normal folks!! So, THANKS FOR BEING NORMAL PEOPLE!! :) Much Love & Respect from the rolling hills & fertile farmlands of The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!! :) Domari Nolo PA III

But all I've been hearing is don't cut meat on your board (with or without grooves), even if it's seasoned. Also, what is that first electro swing song?

Also you should have sanded that old board. old son. That board needed it.

You can cut meat on a wooden board. If you wash the board afterwards and take care of it, it’s fine. It better for your knives too. But if you still want to be careful, use a sealed composite board. They’re usually not that expensive.

Obviously as long as it's food safe. Just to make sure anyone reading this doesn't buy something intended for industrial lubrication and slathers their food surfaces in it, because there are different kinds of mineral oil out there.

You can do the same on your wooden kitchen cabinets ( i mean mineral oil) Thank you for the instruction. I just started using mineral oil. So funny. I have the same cutting board as yours. I spray first and then use paper towels. Seems like they never dry. But, because i put them flat. Lol
