the moment you see 'mystery' on a bottle you forget about it as soon as possible.
The hot water and soap strips the oil and wax from the cutting surface so you can start with a fresh surface. Boos oil or food grade mineral oil goes on first to penetrate wood fibers. Then cream, which is typically bees wax, goes on top to provide a temporary coating over the oiled wood fibers. One can oil daily or weekly as necessary, cream (bees wax as needed). Boos suggests both as needed.

"Boos" suggests. A good cutting board shouldn't need to be oiled more than once a month. And you can use the 2.99 Mineral oil from Target.
Got a Boos Block for Christmas. Looked up videos on how to care for it and of course Tyler has one! Curious how you clean it between uses. Just wipe it down?
