Top video again 👌 There's always the 10-15% that won't have WFP whatever the circumstances and probably the 5-10% that moan if the weathers dodgy ( you need to know this when buying a round ) !!

Absolutely. From that first round I bought there was a lady who was a right k**b with me saying "well...I want traditional and don't bother coming when it rains and oh I'm only home at the weekends for you to collect, oh and I'm not paying more than £5 front and back." Told her straight "I don't think this is going to work out. We use wfp in all weathers, and payments are bank transferred, and I can tell you for nothing it'll be more than a fiver all round. Feel free to seek another window cleaner my love. Have a nice day." There's always drop off and there are no guarantees that what you putchase will 100% come back to you. Be cautious is all.

Thanks for all this info. I'm considering buying a round and have been thinking about everything I need to ask. This video has more info than most. Have you managed to build on the 1400 turn over? Would it be possible to handle a round that brings in about 2k+ monthly?

Absolutely it is. My round turns over well in excess of that and has for years. You just need the right structure.

Good info, fair play on giving the chap £800 as well. U got £480 on board so it would still worth it even if they were a bit underpriced (not saying they were, just saying if they was) 👍🏻

A handful were. Clean them for 2 months then raise the price 😄 simples

When you buy a round, how do you first approach the customers, Do you tell them you've purchased it? Does the existing cleaner tell his customers that he isn't able to clean their Windows anymore and he is handing them over to you? How does that usually play out?

  • @ChrisAddis

I just tell them straight up, I'm taking over such and such's round, if you want them done it'll be the same price for the time being etc. I wouldn't lie. It'll bite you down the line

Buying work is a tax deductible expense - it's the same as paying a canvasser for work! I suppose it all boils down to what the accountant advises the cost of buying the work is classed as. There is usually a number of ways of accounting for costs. I would be very surprised if it was not deductible as it was/is a genuine business expense. I am so looking forward to getting out but have to wait for jabs :(

There have been some changes to tax, but broadly speaking that is the case yes

Technically buying a round cannot be counted as a business expense even with a receipt. Your only buying goodwill , I could be completely wrong

My accountant says otherwise. By purchasing a round and keeping a record thru the books as an investment in your business to expand. Like I said my accountant assures me that is the case. If yours says different, no dramas you choose who to listen to.

As an edit to the above comment. You are actually correct to a degree. As of 2019 there's a purchase of equipment its treated differently. I believe a proportion is deductible but as always seek clarification from an accountant I'd say.

3 to 4 cleans ? In Cheshire your looking at ten cleans easy , 3 cleans is basically giving your business away ,

Good to know I got value then. Thing is if you had a round to sell that could raise your income by £1200 a month, you really going to pony up £12k? Rather you than me

It comes to Location like any business how long the business has been running for , most places in the uk are asking at least 7 cleans , and yes you would seek you business if you was retiring or looking at doing other lines off work ,

@@marknixon3105 with respect good will alone is not worth £12k, nothing like. If a window cleaning business is selling a round you would want to see a return (turn a profit) within 6 months...selling for 10 times is lunacy. It would take nearly a year to turn a profit which when alls said and done wouldn't be enough to live on I saw a guy try and sell his customer list (no kit or vehicles) for £75k 😆..which was making £20k pcm (allegedly)... If someone ask me for 10 cleans I'd smile and walk on buddy
