The biggest problem is schools and Governor Stitt is not helping. Health care is terrible too. And his hurting human life through his religious dogma doesn't help either. Your biggest employer is Wal-mart. Warehouses and oil is not enough to help. I have seen stats that state even Universities are not good. You have a lot of troubles here. Roads and Bridges look and feel like they were bombed out. And your toll roads don't help it. Your life maybe ok but you have a lot of drug problems and murder troubles. Public transportation is absent. The lifestyle here is terrible. And the rents are becoming too high. Perhaps OKC is ok and fine but in other places are not great. Work on the lifestyle in Oklahoma. I came here to retire. And it was a mistake. I am so sorry I came here.

I agree with you that healthcare is an issue across this entire country, including Oklahoma. We need healthcare reform at the national level benefiting every state. According to the data our largest employer in Oklahoma is the Dept. of Defense. Oklahoma University ranks #124 out 439 national universities, and Oklahoma State University #185 out of 439, placing them both in the top ~40% in the country. The major metropolitan areas, like OKC and Tulsa, certainly have some differences when it comes to roads infrastructure, and I agree that our public transportation is not great (though I wouldn't call it absent). As a real estate agent I see lots of roads and bridges around the state [I practically live in my car] and I can't think of any I've seen in recent years that appear "bombed out" although some are actively under construction--something happening regularly as the major cities are expanding. Rent prices nationwide are troubling, including here in the Sooner State. What part of Oklahoma are you in?

@@BenFreemanHomes Yes from Las Vegas. Lived there for 30 years but got burned out literally and figurabily too. Lost it because of eminent domain on home and job close out. Now it is only SSA because of the losses. Its getting worse here. The rents are of the national corporate landlords are pricing me out. I am slowly being food deprived here. You have got to look at who is buying because if it is the national corporations and Tricon, Black Rock, Blackstone and others, this is trouble for us And US-A. You have Bill Gates buying land and the Chinese rich to destroy US too. Look around the military base here. You are training Ukranians to fly the F16s here. What they are doing is buying farm land they selling like stock investments our food supply. No one pays attention to Oklahoma because it is small and population not like Texas. Oklahoma is considered the ugly stepchild of Texas in importance. Look at this carefully and get out of your OKC bubble mindset and perception. There are huge problems here. There is a lot of poor in this state. I am at the bottom. I see it. I am in a prison here because of your paper please laws and public transportation. Its bad here. I am a legal American but not a legal Oklahoman. I am illegal here. I want to go home to Vermont or somewhere else where I can get the help I need. I can't get any help here. I it awful here to retire if you are only on SSA. or SSI. Its a poor state here. You don't see it because you have a legacy. Good for you but many don't have what you have and you don't see the problems. Your education is the worst. Heath care is terrible but for me it is Housing and Transportation. Awful. The infrastructure in OK is the worst I have ever seen. And I have been around at 70 years old. Its a "What's in it for me" state NOT what's best for all concern including me state. The race consciousness mind set belief system here is not good for America or me. It is also not a service giving state. I come from NY and Las Vegas both service places. I used to giving service and getting service. NOT HERE. I hope this helps you open your eyes to lots of problems that your government does not solve. They are too busy in our bedrooms, bathrooms, and doctors offices and not seeing our food supply dwendle and our housing get worse. Government is formed to enhance the 7 Divine Virtues and stop & block the 7 deadly vices. NOT HERE. And not in our federal government either. Ok my venting is done for now. But; I hope this opens your eyes to hell of Oklahoma.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience. There's nothing I can (or would) say to invalidate your lived experience. I can, however, speak to my own experience: I've been to 46 states, and 12 countries around the world. I've spent *_a lot_* of time outside of Oklahoma and experienced diverse cultures all over the globe. While Oklahoma is far from perfect (and plenty of us are working to make it better), I still believe it can be a great place to live. It's not for everyone, but I could say the same about all the other places I've visited too (expect for maybe Switzerland...it's pretty hard to top).😉
