How to Build our Brick Oven Kit | 1. Unboxing and Overview

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Introducing our series on how to build our PreCut Brick Oven Kits! If you want to build a Wood Fired Brick Oven, check this out. Learn more about our PreCut Brick Oven Kits at bit.ly/394IdiR
This is the introduction to our EPIC 17-PART instructional video series on Building our PreCut Brick Oven Kits. These videos have been our biggest project to date, replacing the first series that we released in 2014. We thought about making the new video series really short and punchy, but that would have meant missing out on LOADS of detail. So we went in the other direction; we've gone FULL DETAIL in this series, trying to show you every aspect of our PreCut Brick Oven Kits so that you can get a really good understanding, not only of how the kit goes together, but whether it's the right Wood Fired Oven for you and your family.
In this video we unbox our D105 PreCut Brick Oven Kit, and take you through all of the inclusions (and there are many). If you're wanting to see a relatively quick overview of how our Brick Oven Kits are put together, this is the best place to start.
Our Wood Fired Oven Kits are available in Australia, the USA and the UK! Check out the links below:

    I built one of Ben's D105 ovens a few years ago. The design both works beautifully and is easy to construct. I had no issues at all, and I had never attempted brickwork before. Worth every penny.

    I've never laid bricks before but I'm hooked after building my D105 and pushing a friend to get one. You really do have just about everything to build the oven. From their support, written instructions and these videos you will get a sense that the company wants you to succeed and they care about your success.

    Hello, I have some questions: 1. Is it possible to use calcium silicon board as a whole? That way the thermal insulation will be better and lighter. I don't know if there is any downside to the lighter weight of the pizza oven? 2. Or whether the refractory bricks of the main body of the pizza oven can be changed to Insulation Fire Bricks (IFB BRICK), so that the heat insulation effect is better, and the weight is at least half lighter, and it is easier to install.

  • @TheFireBrickCo

    @TheFireBrickCo

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi! I'm not quite sure what you mean by the first question, but I can definitely answer the second one. I cannot advise using insualting firebricks for the main body of the dome, for two main reasons; 1. You want the dome of the oven to soak up and retain heat, which it then emits as radiant heat to cook your food. Insulating fire bricks are designed NOT to retain heat, which is one of the reasons they are so light. While this would mean your oven is quite lgiht, it would not perform the way you want it to at all. The internal temperature would go up very quickly when the fire is lit, but the minute it dies down a little, the temperature would drop rapidly. 2. Insualting firebricks are very soft. If you hit the wall of the oven with a tool or some firewood you would damage it straight away. Hope this is helpful!

    Hi Tayfun - good suggestions! Firebricks of this type don't come in a range of colours unfortunately - we could have them glazed but that would make them rather expensive! We are looking at getting our next batch numbered on the outside face to make them easier to identify.
