How to Build our PreCast Oven Kit | 1. Unboxing & Overview

Introducing our Series on How to Build Our PreCast Oven Kits! If you want to build a Wood Fired Pizza Oven, check this out. Learn more about our PreCast Oven Kits at bit.ly/2xXZbT5
This is the introduction to our EPIC 15-PART instructional video series on Building our PreCast Oven Kits. These videos have been our biggest project to date, replacing the first series that we released in 2016. We thought about making the new video series really short and punchy, but that would have meant missing out on LOADS of detail. So we went in the other direction; we've gone FULL DETAIL in this series, trying to show you every aspect of our PreCast Oven Kits so that you can get a really good understanding, not only of how the kit goes together, but whether it's the right Wood Fired Oven for you and your family.
In this video we unbox our P85 PreCast Oven Kit, and take you through all of the inclusions (and there are many). If you're wanting to see a relatively quick overview of how our PreCast Oven Kit is put together, this is the best place to start.
Our Wood Fired Oven Kits are available in Australia, the USA and the UK! Check out the links below:

    My wife and I are looking at the P85 Precast oven as it will suit our needs perfectly. It will be some time before we will be ready due to real life getting in the way, but when we are, you will be getting a call from us. And might I add that it's great seeing a great looking Aussie product being purchased all over the world. Well done guys 👍

    Crated and delivered with care! I'm amazed at how well thought out this kit is. Every component is marked making it easy to grab when it's needed. I'm watching the videos ahead to be prepared for what's next. Tomorrow we pour the suspended concrete slab and after all of the work that went into the stand, I'm excited to start the oven itself! Thank you to all that helped put this kit together!

    Hi Ben I love you great presentation and information about your pizza ovens. I was trying to sourcing refractory cement in Brisbane and was hoping you could point me in right direction, I can purchase Fondu Ciment but and not sure how to mix it for mortar I was appreciate any assistance

    Hi Basil, you could try Total Refractory Management - unfortunately Ciment Fondu isn't something that you can just mix with sand to make a good refractory mortar. The guys at TRM might be able to help you with something though.

    Great job, looks amazing. I sugest you a versión for people lazy like me. The briks arround the door can be 3 pieces, the 2 sides and the top instead of put together brik by brik. And the concrete version can have the textura of the brick, inside will be black cause the fire and outside the texture can be painted simulating bricks. Hope the idea works. Wishing you the best.

    Check the service temperature rating on it - a lot of fibreglass insulation melts at 450C and you can get it well beyond that!

    Hi Guys, I just discovered your videos and I love what you do. I am interested in a pizza oven and I would like to have it installed at home in Cameroon. I lived in France for 43 years and I am going to settle permanently in my country of origin. I would therefore like to know if it is possible to first: have the dimensions of the exported ovens and secondly, how much they cost. As for the shipping costs to Cameroon, if you can give them to me that will be interesting. Go build one of my own, I don't think I will. thank you for your information. Go ahead;

    Hi Jean! We would love to get one to Cameroon but with the sheer workload we currently have on we have had to pause our one-off international shipments to ensure we get on top of all the orders from Australia and the USA.

    Why dont you have a spec sheet with dome thicknes, door opening dimetions etc. Also what are these made of, castable refractory material is pretty vague. Is this a refraction clay material like firebtick, refractory concrete or what? Why do you place the dome on top of the floor, that makes it impossible to replace as does mortoring ut down, it would be nice if there was a refractory sand option with the dome placed around it instead of on top of it The oven has a lot of nice features but yhe construction doesn't seem to allow for expansion and contraction of the dome, including the way the capston is poured

  • @TheFireBrickCo

    @TheFireBrickCo

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi @knawl - we actually do have a full spec sheet plus lots more information on the kits, it can all be found on our website. Here is the link to the full spec sheet for the P85 including layout and cross-section drawings (I am assuming you're enquiring from the USA): www.thefirebrickco.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/P85-PreCast-Kit-Overview-USA.pdf In terms of the castings, they are made from a dense Low Cement Refractory Castable, 45% alumina, reinforced with stainless steel fibres at 3% by mass of castable. (Refractory Castable is effectively 'refractory concrete', a material that can be mixed and poured into a mold where it is vibrated into position and allowed to set). We place the dome on top of the floor tiles because it makes the building process a lot easier than it would otherwise be, but more importanly because you just aren't going to need to replace the floor tiles - even in a commercial envirnoment where the oven is used 6 days per week for lunch and dinner, the floor tiles take more than 6 years to wear down to the point of needing replacement, so in a domestic wood fired oven they will likely never need replacing. Refractory sand as a bedding option would lead to movement in the tiles over time as you throw in large pieces of timber. We have more than a thousand of the P85 PreCast Kits out there with no issues arising from the expansion and contraction of the dome, so you can rest assured that this isn't an issue you need to worry about. Feel free to email or call us with any further questions, we will be happy to help!
