How to Build an Underground DIY Skate Bowl.
Спорт
As street spots become increasingly over-skated, a new breed of skateboarders are heading underground to build their own little slice of shred-paradise. In an old cellar vault in Vienna, Philipp Schuster and friends built an underground DIY bowl; 592 square feet of harsh trannies, claustrophobic corners and one-of-a-kind acoustics. It's known as The Concrete Monster, and this thing will eat you alive if you're not on your A-game.

This is what skating is about. Not landing the craziest tricks or biggest jumps, but coming together with some friends and having a good time.

No budget to Europeans means .. everybody paid a thousand ... lol.
I like how this is a “how to” video
Awesome video, but I cant help thinking a small wooden mini ramp in there would have been a lot less work and arguably much more fun.

I agree, there is much more that could have been done with just wood. That way a redesign would also have been possible. That is concrete parks downfall, once its there, its there forever, there is no changing it or making it better.
Everything is possible with hard work, dedication, persistance, perseverense, passion, practise, patience and comitment. Love what you are do it and put effort into it and see as it thrives within you Stay awesome and keep on killing it
turning an old unused cellar into a bowl is truly a work of art. You are giving this cellar a new purpose, cultural value and life! have my respect
You guys are a huge inspiration to the skate community and grey to see you can build art of a cellar.
I have the utmost respect for these guys and anyone involved in DIY projects, but honestly, that thing turned out so harsh that it looks damn near unskateable. Somehow I get the feeling they would have been better off with a fun and simple wooden mini ramp in there. At least until Ben Raybourn turns up and shows I was wrong all along.

It's not unskateable, it's a lot more fun if it's sketchy

zSyncc no shit bro that's exactly right! This is how Burnside was created without the Redbull budget. The place used to be so rough and sketchy people didn't even want to skate it but believe me they learned how and they ripped that motherfucker to shreds even back in the 90s! Burnside has had a lot of people invest money out of their own pocket and time out of their own hands and is much more scalable now but it's still a big beast with tight tranny's and rough shit everywhere!!! definitely skateable

A wooden ramp would have been decayed in a year though. They obviously can rip it. Its not build for the masses.

Nice one boys, tight lines and yep I see how the ' monster' eats you, still an 'Outstanding' effort on the DIY group. Really inspiring to watch.

Awesome DIY project. Love the time lapse at the beginning.
So sick! Love to see you skaters come together with a group effort and pull something like that off! My boss always tells me "just keep plugging away! And you will get it done." Well done gents!
Awesome! Congrats to the guys!
congrats to these guys, wonderful crew :)
My buddy and I built a half pipe under his house back in like 6th grade. His neighbor was a contractor and helped out us out a bit.
why didn't they just keep the trash in the cellar as a support material behind the wooden construction?

Only skateboarding will you find this amazing build I'm 55 this year had give up skateboarding 10 years ago due to illness brought back lot off good memories thanks guys
That's got to be one of the sickest location for a diy
this is sooo cool
So true I’m in lockdown and building a finger board park and it’s so big and the best part is it’s a built out of cutof’s from my real skatepark 😂
that's so sick!
Good shit man very inspiring
Dope this why i love skateboarding
This reminds me of the Creature bowl in Skate 2
That's great we got more beautiful human beings like in this video. We have a hope
Amazing
All that effort and it looks like a very tight whipping ride. With that high ceiling and length of the building a decent mini ramp would've been a much much better choice.
So sick
Jolly good show chaps. 😈

ZiLaR I think it was
We had a skatepark... Shitty parents would drop their kids off there like it was a daycare, since there were adults or older kids around. Some kid broke his arm, his parents sued and won, and then we had no more skatepark. So me and my group of friends slowly turned this abandoned area into one. It was the association building of a run down apartment complex. It was in the woods, you could just barely make it a clearing out through the tree in winter. We turned the two tennis courts into a legit park over a two year period. We had a pyramid with a hubba, two kickers, two polejams, rails, two boxes. Everything was wood and except the rails and polejams, and was moveable. Then we got 3 quarter pipes and the park was just legit. We called it "the hood spot " since it was in the woods behind a bad area. We could move stuff around and set up crazy runs. It was hush hush for years. Like a group of 20 peoples personal park. We had it from 16 to like 26 years old. After the first five years the spot was blown up. People would drive 30, 45 minutes to come skate it. In 2016 it got eaten up though. Who ever owned the property finally came back and saw what we did and were amazed but they ripped it all out. The quarter pipes, the pyramid, the polejams got eaten. R.I.P. hood spot. Sick park. The tennis court ground was perfect for a skate spot. Miss that place
this should be a map for skate 3
