Zack Dowdy nice dude is it done by the time I’m here
After you are done rub bricking the edge you can paint it, spray it with clear coat/lacquer, brush on concrete sealer or brush on latex bonding agent..any of those before wax will keep it super buttery..and if the edges of the mortar breaks away, you can skim coat it with vinyl concrete patch.it can be troweled very thin and still hold up.
This is a solid video. Great tips and edited in away that was engaging. Appreciate your work on this. Now let's see the session.

Will definitely use some of these 💯💯
I been making diy spots for a while cause of your channel. When. I look for spots I pretty look for nearest river bed. It's out of peoples way, you can tell your friends where it's at, they can help and city won't waste money to get rid of it. My favorite diy spot I use to skate is the 605/ firestone ditch in Downey Ca. A lot of pro skaters skate that spot when filming. It's been there for more than 20 years.
this is full send and i LOVE it
These DIY videos are super helpful homie

there’s a skate park in the colorado mountains that started off as an illegal spot and now it’s fucking huge and it’s in like the gap in a parking garage, so it’s thin but long and sweet

@@ZackDowdy oh so you can rub brick the ground!! I have this spot at a car wash by the crib and it has a bank slant thats about 25 to 30 inches at a 45 degree slant and it has a double sided ledge. At the top! The kink from the bank to the ledge is hectic. Almost a second ledge. I haul at it and can get up there kinda but its so crusty. I wish i could show you a picture of it. It could be a pro/semi pro spot and there are two seperate ones within a steezy sidewalk line. How if at all can i make it skateable? Imagine a steep wedge with a tiny lip butted up to a ledge thats 5 inches tallerish. Lol and thanks for reading these books i send you!
Hey dude! I found a small abandoned spillway out in the woods and I'm trying to fix her up. My problem is that the banks are a little too spaced to keep some good speed. Could you make a video on how to build a DIY hump? Thanks bud! Keep up the good content!

Ryan Smith That’s awesome you found a spot to build at! I’ll think of a location I can make a bump tutorial at. I would imagine you’d start with dirt mound and try to shape it like the bump out be.

Hey! I live in the woods and have no skateable surfaces near me at all. Working from home now and thinking about what I could do in order to get a flat surface for practicing some kickflips and stuff like that.
@ZackDowdy
4 жыл бұрын
Now would be the time for sure! You could always form up a flat surface with 2x4's, fill with rock, and then cover with cement just using a level to make sure it's simi flat. Easier said then done for sure, sounds like a fun project!

i have found a diy spot its an empty cement lot not to big used to be a building then fully knocked down into a parking lot thing nobody uses it is pretty out the way and small its about six parking spaces big me and my friends are going to build a diy skatepark there for our bmx bikes i found a filing cabinet next to a dumpster close to the spot im going to turn it into a box jump there is also wood around the area of the spot for the trash same with some cinder blocks so if i get liquid nails and some other things its going to be a great fun spot to hang out at with my friends its also got some cover from trees for when its sunny. Sorry for my big comment i will make a video on it around june 1st also my towns mayor is a bmx rider (hosts loads of skatepark events) so i should be good

Another good tip for you. I skate, ride bmx and scooters (good variety) and I found a good way to make a ledge is with a wooden pallet or 2 or more. At the sides screw them together, maybe 2 pallets high and 2 pallets long and put a piece of plywood and screw it onto the top and it’s a nice flat surface to ride on. For bmx you can just lay smaller pieces of wood in the cracks. Hope this might help you!
Angle iron + locktite on a ledge makes any ledge skatable.

Such a solid and easy DIY!
@newvocabulary
3 жыл бұрын
@@ZackDowdy you can literally slap them on anywhere. Dust off the ledge, apply lock tite, slap on iron, disappear for 48 hours and you have an iron ledge that will last for years. Takes less than a minute to do. If the iron is short enough you can even apply the locktite in a car/van, then just hop out, slap on the iron, and leave in 30 seconds. I have no idea why people aren't doing this to every shitty crumblestone concrete ledge in their town.
this should've been on thrasher
It cracked because you mixed mortar with concrete. Mortar cures quicker and is easier to blend but is not as durable as concrete.

Tyler Cox This is true! Mixing in some higher PSI will make the spot much stronger.

Why do you always shop and endorse Home Depot? Just curious? There are probably tons of smaller locally owned stores that sell all the same stuff in your area. Just a thought, considering your views on Nike and stuff. Food for thought buddy:)
