How To Build an OFFROAD Tire Carrier 100% from Scratch!! Full DIY!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Homemade, Homebuilt, DIY… whatever you want to call it! We're building this bad boy 100% from scratch!
In this episode I am going to show you how I make an Offroad tire carrier capable of holding a 40" tire! Follow along with me as I go over the basic techniques to fabricate a project like this. Manifesting something from nothing is extremely rewarding and I recommend building these kinds of projects to everyone who has ever considered it.

Nice build Nate . I'm loving the construction sections of this channel . I like the way you break things down so regular Joe can understand . Crucially I don't feel like you talk down to your viewers treating them like total dumb-asses . It's also nice to hear a "professional" You Tuber (I don't know if you count yourself as a professional Nate ? No insult intended .) openly admit they don't have a skill set and there's something they can't do and need to learn . I have a feeling there maybe some "I did it this way guys and it was wrong." , "This is the way I should have done it." sections in your upcoming videos as we come along for the ride and learn new skills with you . Thanks for the hard work in creating this content . It's appreciated . Fattrucker

Turned out great man. I'm sure you're aware, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you're not - you said a couple times aluminum is nice because it doesn't rust. It will corrode though, if left exposed to the elements, in a bunch of different ways. And if left untreated, can be pretty catastrophic to a part. But again, nice work on the tire carrier - it looks awesome.

Yo Nate when are you guys going to get the Moab videos up? I'm the guy from the silver LJ that ran into you guys on Kane Creek. Pretty much ran behind your group the entire day until the traffic jam on Hamburger Hill got cleared up.

Nate, that is awesome! I've been wanting to do something similar, but am not really sure how to best support it structurally. I would love to see how you did the attachment points, surely it's more than just what is external to the Jeep. There has to be some internal support as well? Great job, and keep it up. I'll be coming back to this video for sure!

I love those WKs. If I had one it would be the crd of course lol with an overlander themed build. A reasonable size (33s probably) with tube everywhere! Tube bumpers, sliders, roof rack, the works! And a well designed skid can completely change the capability of any rig! Needs to be able to slide over rocks 🤘
