Love that you added in the diagonal support. I was just thinking if it had enough support then you added it in :) Great build for family fun!
I love leading off with the insults on the table haha. Great job as always april.
this video was just perfect for me as this is a project I have been thinking about. some great tips here, thank you.
I LOVE this picnic table! It's also awesome to see you improvising your work space---makes it so relatable since some ppl(like me!) don't have a workshop and end up working in very limited space! I want to make this!
Hi April, love the videos. You're very determined, innovative and patient. As you're cutting the tabletop, in this particular setup, the right hand piece is the shorter, most likely scrap piece. The piece on the left will vary by as much as 3/8", particularly treated lumber. About the only pieces cut to exact length at the lumber yard or home store are pre cut white wood studs. Took me a while to realize that a long time ago when I was first starting out. I admire your ingenuity in dealing without a shop. Now you're working like a site carpenter. Looking forward to the next video too!
Great job April! I think that your family will get a lot of use out of it. Your truck is in great shape for its age. But being a southern truck it doesn't surprise me that much. Keep up the great work Thanks for sharing
you are the BEST!!! can't wait to see your new shop. great picnic table. keep those videos coming. now you have me doing DIYs around my house. maybe some day I'll start sharing my videos too.
Oh my, I just found your channel whilst searching for some DIY advice! You rock! You're a few years ahead of me, but I'll add to my tool collection over time and build up a storm. How awesome to see another woman rocking this work! (Funny reading guys offer advice). Have subscribed to your channel. Thx.
I love your family April, they are awesome! Thanks for another great project. As a beginner this one will be near the top of the list. Hoping to say Hi in the UK in a couple of weeks.
@April Wilkerson I like the way you test your work, if it holds you up, then good to go. Nice job!
Nice table, I have built many in my time. Thanks for showing us this one it's a great thing to do for your parents. Can't wait to see your new shop. waiting patiently. Keep up all the good work. You are fantastic!!!! Your husband and parents should be really proud of you!
This video brought back memories. I've done many project off the tailgate of my truck. Saw horse, work table, storage and radio all in one
you made a great point regarding not needing a shop. I worked without a shop for years. Where there's a will there's a way. Great job on the table
Good project! One advantage of the detached bench seats is that you can move them away and use the table as a buffet. Thanks for showing this build.
April! Un trabajo fabuloso👍
These are great design and easy to bulid, thank you April!
Hi April.you do a great job on your vids with the narration and demo.I'm usually just looking for design ideas, don't need bolt size, hole size or other specifics-but general measurements like your bench height issue are worth mentioning. Thanks for posting the great vids, and I'm looking forward to your design/plan ideas for your new shop.
Nice project. And it is something that brings family together. Your folks have a beautiful place.
Thanks April, that is just what I want to build for my daughter and her family.
I love that clamp-shelf technique! I used that technique back in high school while building a tree fort and its super useful
Looks like great weather for an outdoor build! Can't wait to see the new shop when it's ready.
Well done April. I also like using a router with a round over bit to ease the edges.
Awesome spring project! So simple! Thanks April!
Hi April We used your plans and made our table from Australian Treated Mountain Ash timber. It was amazing .Thank you so much Geoff B.
Hey April lovely work again, I'm so excited because I've just had a notification from yandles that your are going to be there, you are a true inspiration to so many people and yandles is right on my doorstep, what day will you be there I have to be there! !! omg so excited can't wait.
Hy April,It's not easy to work without a workshop, but you always manage. Every time good ideas and beautiful achievements.Hugs from Belgium
Another great and completely approachable project. Thanks for sharing!
Those look super solid! I dig the separate benches.
Needed a picnic table badly for years, looking forward to building this! Good job...thanks for sharing! Love the Tailgate!
What a great project! Who can't use a picnic table? Great message about the workshop, showing others that starting small can still accomplish build/project goals!

Great Job Miss April, making one this week ~~you are the best, keep up the great work and God bless you, your Family and the USA
Loved this video, can’t wait to build one of a couple! I think I’d like to use cedar rather than pressure treated lumber, though. Thanks!!
I have been working with wood all my life, but I learn new things from April every time I watch one of her videos!
The wonders of a dry climate! No picnic table up here in Atlantic Canada lasts more than a dozen years! Thanks for the build! :)
The Picnic table was great and I love the seats, being over 6 feet tall with long legs the normal picnic table is hard to get in and out of. Most of all I love your truck.
Thank you April, nice work. As others have said, I also love your truck. Cant wait for you to get going in your new shop. Keep up the great work.
I used the plans from the site. It looks great, I recommend making the table legs taller and likewise the benches too. Maybe 4" carriage bolt instead of 4 1/2" as well. It cost more in materials than prefab at box store but, its better. After a couple days of use: definitely make table legs taller, set bench legs in further to tuck tighter to table. Great game able, kids love it!

I think 3 1/2" carriage bolts would work. Additionally, some 3" screws for the cleats would be nice.
My dad and I built a table like this around 20 years ago out of cedar with attached benches. It's still at Mom's house, but I have been wanting one for my house. And I like the separate benches. April, you really have good ideas! :-)
Love your videos. I have always enjoyed building things. The videos are extremely helpful. You are a great teacher and very informative. I have bought 2 plans off your website. Extremely easy t read and the shopping list are worth its weight in gold. I can not wait to see what you build next.
No tengo palabras, Todos los trabajos son GENIALES.Saludos desde Barcelona Catalonia
I love watching you make stuff ,and I love you April and your tools
Great video April! May God bless you and your family
I love this project and looking forward to build this for my property.
Great weekend project... thanks April...good luck with the new workshop...always nice to have your own space...but equally important that you have family and friends you can count on until you are re-established in your own space...:D
I was not sure about this design at first, but I really like it! Going to make one as soon as the snow and cold stop here in Buffalo, New York. Thanks for the idea and plans. Take care and keep up the great work.
Always nice to watch your videos April, you always look so happy doing your thing! great to watch, keep up the good work, regards from Holland!
Great job, April! *The project turned out great!*
I over think the plans in my head so much, i never end up doing it. You made this very easy to follow. Well done.
I've been a subscriber and like your work so I'm not new to your videos. But I SWEAR just today I was telling my wife that I want to build a picnic table for the back. I said it out loud and that was it, didn't think about it again. Then I log onto my KZread account and there you are building one!! With free plans to a great table. I've already downloaded the plans and thank you for everything you do. The plans definitely took some time to make and are easy to understand for those interested.

Would be great to do a video of viewer builds from your plans if people have done so and taken pictures/video :)
Nice build! Great looking, simple, functional picnic table.
New woodworker. You are a fantastic teacher. Thank you for the vid!
This is a great time to be working outside, our Texas weather has been great for wood working.
Hi April & Cody, Family, Good job on the picnic table. I like how you make useful things. Happy Spring, C.
Those turned out great. I think you get the award for the coolest work station. The back end of a kick ass old truck! 👍
Easy, basic, simple. Exactly what a picnic should be. Nice job!
Another great project April. I look forward to seeing what you build when you attend the Midlands Woodworking Show in Newark UK later this month. See you there.
Always like the shots with the family. Great job and ingenuity.
I really enjoy watching your projects, very informative👍🏻
It looks like you are always having fun!! I think that is wonderful. Nice video.
Unattached benches also make the table and benches more versatile for use in other projects. Mine stay in the shop for the winter months for sanding, staining drying.... I even use my benches to lift my push mower and other small equipment for oil changes. If they get in my way, they are design to be outdoors so that is where they go until I have room or need them again.
I like the fact that the benches are separate too. You can use either just a bench or just the table or mix and matched with any number or all three together - much better options than the benches attached permanently.
It is a great project to do I am going to give it a go and I love the champion dance you did, nice to see you enjoy what you do
Great build April! I may have to build me this for our new place this summer! 👍🏼
As always April, great build and video, thanks for sharing.
good one-i like the removable benches too
Love the picnic table set, April. I really like the separate benches us for guys who need a little extra belly room. My wife and I were sitting on the same side of a picnic table in the park where the benches were attached to the table and it tipped over on us. Not fun.
Great build and love the pickup !!
Great video! Just bought plans thank you!!
Outstanding Truck And Table.
You make everything look so easy.
April, Nice project. Super common request and simple build.
April, we always enjoy your videos! :)
Great work as always April. I love your channel. I can't tell from the video, but I was thinking you could set the spacing on the seat legs 3 inches shorter than the table leg spacing to help the seats "nest" into the table better when not in use. Just a thought.
Great project. Working away from your new workshop is a very interesting "twist" to your projects. Love the table. "I'm a champion!" :)
Great video! And perfect timing... I am planning on building a picnic table this Spring! Thanks! Btw... nice truck! Take care!
I love your videos. So helpful! I'm a newbie to all this so your videos help! Keep them coming!
Love the table legs. I do the tabletop differently. Thanks for the ideas
Great job April! Fantastic video.
I can't wait to see more videos on exterior projects "house framing" Yard Ideas ect.
Bonsoir de la FranceTrès belle réalisation comme toujours.....!
Congratulations! Excellent job.
Love to see you build things Your so awsome
i definitely need to build a picnic table this year. Nice ideas in making separate benches April!
Very cool. Thanks for the free plans.
You are a great wood worker ! I love your videos !
Great build, thank you for sharing.
My congratulations you are a great professional, besides everything very nice
I just built traditional picnic table and the wood I used is pressure treated lumber from home depot and it has a red look like cedar which dressed it up nice. For less weight, you can use 5/4" decking boards for top and seats.
can't wait to see your new shop
Very nice Picnic Table an I love your workbench I have one similar to it Thanks for sharing
I love separate benches, advanced age and some creaky joints make it very hard to get in & out of attached benches.
great build April
Nice table and benches. I think I'll build one. Thanks April! Yep that is a nice truck.
Thank you, full and interesting explanation, with a touch of art

Great build once again! Definitely on the list of things to make. :)
Congratulations with your reaching 400K subscribers.
Awesome vid, April! Just bought a house and cannot wait to build this for the 1.31 acres I got with the house.
Really like the table and benches April! Would make for a really nice picnic (as demonstrated) later, Murph
Nice job April. I may build one soon now!
Nice sturdy bench April. You could always counter-sink the bolts a little so folks can't catch their legs on them.
