I thought I was a steel only fabricator until I got a house and went for it remodeling it. I learned that I was just a doer, doesn't matter what media wood, steel, plastic all you need these days is a will to do it and a budget for the right tools. As you get better you get better tools.

We have had this bench kzread.infoUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg for five years now and it is still holding up strong with minimal signs of wear! So much so that I decided to get another one to store other stuff. The first one is still beautiful, strong and is easy to clean. It’s been in our living room and we store toys and blankets in it and it really holds quite a bit of stuff. I purchased a similar one two years ago from Aldi and let me tell you that one fell apart in less than six months of use. Get this one if you’re looking. Seriously worth it. Five years already and I can’t believe it looks this good and has held up for the price! Awesome bench, the new one I just got is identical.

That cross cut at 4:48 is one of the most dangerous cuts to do with table saw, massive potential for a kick back,

When I was an apprentice carpenter I was getting lazy and comfortable with the table saw, I was cutting down some architraves and moved my hand over the blade to catch the off cut on the other side and didn't lift my hand high enough, I didn't lose a finger but it grabbed my thumb and cut down the middle to the bone, hurt like a b!tch and bled like a pig. Exciting time with the new baby mate! I'm up to 5 sons, keep em coming brother.

Glad to see that you are not afraid to purchase older tools. They may not have all the bells and whistles of a brand new tool, but they are usually capable of producing good results. In some cases, tools from yesterday were built with more weight and are more solid when being used. I bought my table saw in 1975, it still performs flawlessly. I wouldn't trade it for a comprable one made today.

Looks great on camera. In case you didn’t know, you are going in from the wrong side with the pocket screws. The screw is pointing towards the corner of the piece you are screwing in to, leaving very little wood on either side of the screw and making a weak joint. Instead of the pocket hole being on the inside, they should be on the outside, screwing away from the corner of the other piece. Cosmetically challenging with the pocket holes on the outside but it looks like they would be hidden away on your project.

Adam, here is a challenge for you. Make two identical plywood panels 12”x12”. Paint one with your sprayer and the second with a six inch foam or short nap roller and see what difference in the finish. Personally, I really like the rolled on finish. Great job on the mud room coat racks.

I got an old unisaw and attached a router table to it and bought the long mobile base. I can push it around but it does live in one place in my shop. Next step is to add a fold down outfeed table to my table saw. I have those harbor freight rollers and they are useful but an outfeed table would be great.

I am the planner for the benches… we looked at so many on Pinterest and found a few ideas from several that we used ideas from. I can tell you that the long sides are 15” deep and the seats are 21” deep with a 1 and 1/2” seat overhang. The straight bench was 74” wide with 3 equal cubbies. The L-bench is 84”wide and the short L was 44” wide. He did leave a good sized opening in the corner and reinforced that seat area with 2x4 support. He put 1/2 trim boards on the wall to create the look of cubbies and to screw the hooks into. Painted the wall white inside so it all looks like the same unit. Seats are 18” high. If you need any other dimensions- let me know. I am happy to help. Oh I also talked him into the crown molding on top! It has completely changed coming into the house to a comfy area
