I try to shoot everyday, even if it's just 5-10 shots, started close to 3 months ago and holding about a 4-5" group at 20 yards but it keep getting tighter, when I first started it was about an 18" group 🤣 but it's definitely improving thank to yall and a few other KZread channels, thank you Dan, Josh, and Tim. Give MFJJ a big a** high 5 for me, watching him go through Tims form help me drastically

@@ElkShape you need a section right at the beginning talking about the tools you’ll need. ie press, vise, allen’s (sae) small and handle, lighter, server string, magnetic tray. I’m sure MFJJ, would have recommendations. You touched on the press, and the importance of the magnetic tray, but nothing else. Also, regarding your peep, I know there’s two different angles. How do you determine which one you need?
That was one of the greatest bow build videos that I ever saw.. mfjj has such skills to explain how to do things.. thanks! 👌👍👊
Absolutely love these kinds of videos , there’s lots of people out here that are to embarrassed to ask about a lot of things and this will definitely help thanks guys ! And as for the camera work we’ll just mount the camera to a riser then maybe MFJJ will be a little more steady 😂😂😂

Good ole Tim. josh is a very patient man
Thanks guys!!! I really enjoyed what Josh said" I've probably built like 27 000 bows, Tim what does that mean". Tim "it means it's recording" 😁. Love your honesty and all your advice. Now you just have to go through each brand 😅
Nice job Tim and thank you to both for the video 👍
Thanks a ton for taking the time to actually show everything in detail
Awesome video Tim and MFJJ!!!

Awesome video guys!!!
I really like this video. Nice job and extremely helpful to anyone wanting to figure things out with setting up a bow. Man this would have been so helpful when I first started out 13 years ago.
Great video fellas, you guys have become my favorite channel by far. Love listening to the vids while I shoot. Keep it up!

I absolutely love this video man. Tim makes me feel so normal, even though I know what an axle is I’m the same way with bows.
While watching this.... "man, do I need glasses?".. nope.. just MFJJ's camera work lol.
Awesome video Tim, sweet to see the set up you gonna run! I been shooting since last season getting pumped for some alberta bears lol
Thank you for this video my bow has those plastic yoke and string attachment now I know how to take them apart and reinstall them excellent job fellas
Great video. Would love to see more bow build videos. I would love to see more timing adjustment on the cams and how to make sure your bow is in spec after a new string install
This reminds me of a 90s home video I liked it
Now that bowl looks really sweet with that paint job and those green strings look sharp
Thanks for sharing this video it has helped me a lot with working on my own bow

Very nice. I changed my halon strings last weekend. This would have saved me a lot of time.
Josh is one heck of an instructor. Not only does he let Tim do the work but he explains why he does things certain ways and why he has Tim do it that way. Can not wait for more of his instructional videos. Great video.
Great video
Never thought I'd see a Nickelodeon themed bow.

Hi Tim. I want a Hoyt Ultra RX- 7 sooooo badly... but I would buy a Matthews Phase 4 in that camo color on the wheels riser in a second. It is so hot. 🔥 Mathews should come out with that camo color as an option from the factory. I would pay for the upgrade. Great vid!
Good stuff fellas. Any lead time on the white ES side plates?
Hey @tim. How about using the orange d loop material to drive your Hamskea. D loop material works great for this.
Good job Tim, Josh for the first time really behind the camera you get a slide. Hell you’d get a slide anyhow since your trying to do to things at once! Is there any chance you could do a video with close ups of knot tying and the different styles at different points on bows?
Josh stick with teaching man. Outstanding teacher and bow tech. Camera work you're gonna need Tim's help lol. Awesome video guys. Looking forward to the next one and bow builds of MFJJ
Looks good fellas! I noticed you didn't check for timing after you installed the new strings or was that something you did off camera?
@ElkShape
Жыл бұрын
We did off camera & timing was solid 🤙
Is there a more detailed video on paper tuning? For example a top hat was mentioned. It’d be cool to see all the various scenarios for tuning and the changes to make.
Would you check timing and poundage before you tie in the string for the rest to make sure your string are correct?. I found I had to twist a new set of string more than expected to get the poundage and brace night correct.
I’m happy MFJJ is embracing my name suggestion.

There’s a couple forums on archery talk about not using the Hamskea bracket for these newer Matthew’s. I just got a phase 4 and I was gonna use an epsilon, ever had any issues with tuning or anything with the bracket? 35:23
Where would I find an allen wrench like the one you used to tighten down your v bar?
How do you like the A3 strings so far? How is the peep rotation on them? Thinking about getting some for my bow. Good job putting your bow together, learned a lot will watch the video again a couple time to make shire I understand what I need to do

What is Josh Jones opinion on running your rest cord to the yoke as opposed to using the limb bracket?
That bow looks like someone threw up on it 😂😂
You should name that bow. The ole Swamp Donkey. 😂
What do you think the best non custom bow strings are and which manufactures are trust worthy.

Any one know if vapor trail rests are any good?
What's the difference of using that hamskea mount for the limb driven rest compared to tying the cord into the yoke?
@ElkShape
Жыл бұрын
Both work fine.. it’s personal preference
@RKeaton
Жыл бұрын
Attaching it to the limb clamp or the yoke puck on these bows with a lot of limb flex can make the rest louder on the shot and stops you from being able to fine tune the amount of guidance the rest has on the arrow, which is one of the benefits of a limb driven rest. Designer of the product recommends using the limb pad and trying it 2” from the limb bolt as a starting place.
@naturalstatehunter5591
Жыл бұрын
Hamskea doesn’t recommend tying to the yoke. Their recommendation is tying to the limb 2.5”-4” from the tip of the limb and using their adhesive rubber piece that comes with the rest. Make sure to replace the cordage with some BCY #24 and you will have zero problems!
I'd like to see a video on how much KZread had increased Josh's business I know for me personally I've ordered a lot of things from the website that I never would have without KZread
What size stabilizers are you running Tim
@ElkShape
Жыл бұрын
12” and 10” right now.. it feels very balanced
If you’ve decided “yeah, archery is my thing”, then before you buy another bow; buy a bow press, draw board and fletching jig. When (Elkshape guys) you put on your new strings, take about 100 -200 shots, cut the loop off and see which ones have the serving separated under the loop. Bet all of them do. MFJJ just works from home now?
I thought the Hamskea limb cord bracket is not compatible with the Phase 4
how did you get the unique colors on the riser?

@ElkShape

How come you didn't tied the rest onto the limb and not the yoke?
I think he’s got more of a Michelangelo from the ninja turtles theme going with that bow.

pls dont hit that tiny screw with hammer, its going to break. 😅
I don’t get why everyone is dogging on his for it. It’s a sick scheme!!
Mathews look like a pain in the ass. Between having to shim cams and having to take it apart to get a new string on. Bowtech and Elite are way ahead with their adjustability. Next year Bowtech hunting bows should have the deadloc feature along with a timeloc feature like their target bows.
