Thanks for this video! I'm new to the bow mechanics and I have been doing the precut d loops. I have been doing this exact thing to my center serving and was puzzled to if it was me doing it. Well I just ordered everything of your site to reserve my center and I will be tying all my d loops like this now! Thanks again man!

Another great reminder!! I have new a string set being delivered this week. I also have a 100ft roll of bcy #24 d loop string on order. The d loop placed by the local shop last year has never been tight. Lots of frustration. I should have thrown it on my press and replaced the d loop long ago.

Excellent! This method makes perfect sense. It would be hard to argue that there is a better way. The demonstration of all the slack that was pulled from the bottom tag end is the evidence. However, I would love to see the same demonstration showing cinching down from the center only, then seeing how much slack is still in the outside loops. Maybe a video idea?

Watch this video and did almost exactly what you were talking about an it came out great .Shot the bow later an arrow flight was better than before. Had never even thought of doing this until saw this video and it is definitely intimidating but after an hour of working on the bow is shooting much better

That's a great tip. I want to learn how to do my oww d loops and peep tie in. I have a suggestion for a video. How remove a peep without cutting your bow string. There's plenty of videos of how to tie them, but not to remove the old serving without cutting the bow string. That part makes me nervous. Thanks for the great videos, I've learned a lot from them !!

@Jamie Partington hey man I just watched a guy with a mathew reinstall a peep and he dose what I do and runs a razor blade above the string across serving until one or two strans brake then you just untie the knot and also you cut peep on the peep with razor blade just gotta be careful and aim away from the string.

I just tie them in a way were they are upside down, both knots. If its tied with the d loop on the outside. Everything tightens on its owe. And eventually

If you are good at something, you make it look easy. Well.... you are certainly good at this. Great video and thanks for sharing. I do have a question, I have spoken to a few folks that say to only put one knock stop on (bottom of nock I believe), but you always put two. Is there is a reason why, do you feel like this is just another measure to help secure your arrow, like the way it fits/shoots, etc.? Thanks

I have the same question. I've always used only a bottom knocking point. Seems like there's more than one acceptable way, but I'd like to know Dud's reasoning for why he uses two points.

Exactly how it's done, top away from you and bottom towards you. Squeeze ends together and snug then let the bow determine tightness.

Damn. The archery shop I went to buy my first bow, they didn’t even use the serving string, just a Dloop. the feeling I got from the shop was “hers your bow, let’s see how long you stick with archery”. Like they didn’t want to help me. Not a good experience

you don't need that serving.m inside the loop... it's just his personal preference. Lots of professionals only use a D-loop. Don't be so quick to judge your local shop because they don't setup a bow the same way a popular media personality does... I bet they set theirs up the same way and shoot better than you. Just saying.

I’m right handed and left eye dominant with 3-4” groups at 50. Obviously my technique and form from the shoulders up is wrong using my left eye. (Right eye is near blind from a youth dart). Do I stay with these results and keep ailing for the pin in the middle or switch to a left handed bow and still use a single pin? I pull on a RH Martin Inferno currently, 65lbs at 29”. Any recommendations for starting over left handed would be rad.

If you want to use a slider sight, go lefty. If you can work with fixed pins, there's a few ways to create a reference for you left eye while drawing right handed. Variations of peep eliminators, mostly. If you want to go lefty, pick the bow you want right handed but at a lower draw weight. Take it easy on that transition and good luck!

Man this is a problem on alot of bows sometimes it can be the angle the string is on but it can usually be fixed by reserving again or over but I've been building strings and I've heard it could be the diameter of the serving or the kind of serving they use.

  • @ImperiousArchery

I double up 280 lb power pro spectra one piece spliced inside other overhand knots on each end then burned ...lays flat holds does not move ...half the diameter of regular stuff...never wears either ...not even close to anybodys d loop on earth

  • @headstash1

I'm pretty sure you want to have the d loop tag ends opposite for a left handed bow. So there's a little angle in the direction you will twist with a release

From a knot tying perspective this method is standard procedure. Always tighten the knot from both ends. If you need consistency a dowel of desired diameter inside the loop will assure that.
