Be like Alex
Today I want to tell you how to build a big secret house underground for $2,000. My house will be huge, because I plan to relax here with my family and spend time with friends. At the end of the construction you will be very surprised, but it will be in the second part of the film, which will be by the end of winter! 4 hours of sounds of work and complete relaxation for you, dear viewers.

It was incredible to watch you build your secret house in the forest for $2000. Sadly that couldn’t be done in the USA. It’s all owned by somebody. The Native Americans didn’t have a word owning the land and their way of life was awesome!!! I built my addition on my house myself and liked the feeling of accomplishment. What you too guys did was amazing especially with the limited amount of tools, how creative of you. You really built something you could live in and survive many cold northern winters. Absolutely brilliant job I would love to build one of those and escape this ridiculous rat race way of life and working for unappreciative people who don’t care about anyone except how much they can make off of you while paying you next to nothing without benefits.

You misunderstood what he was saying. Native Americans didn't have a say so meaning they lived this way and their land and homes were stripped out from under them. Then forced into concentration camps that we call reservations. They gave them land and made them dependent upon handouts. Treated my people like animals, subhuman. I wish they were not traumatized by this process. I think in theory it sounded like the honorable thing to do. I'd love for them to give me some land now. How it was executed was not honorable!!! This commenter was saying Natives were not treated fairly and honorably.

This is some grade A public school misinformation. First off there is isn’t one native language like there isn’t one native people. Plains Indians are much different then southern tribes like my people, Creek. Second in my language Muscogee we sure do have words for owning land. The Seminole war was literally a war over who owned the lands in central Florida.

@cynthiabehr1870 You can own property. It's perfectly legal for you to do so. You don't have to live on the res anymore. You haven't for a long time. If you can't own property on the res, that is the res saying so, not anyone else. Yes, native Americans lost wars and suffered horribly for their defeats. As far as subhuman? Do you know what happened to people who previously lost wars? Native Americans, in the US, weren't enslaved mostly( except by other Native Americans) and, with the exception of a few tribes, were not actually eliminated. I'm not saying it was good treatment, nor do I say that going forward, anyone should be treated that way today. For the time, though, it was downright humanitarian. People've come a long way since then.

@@roselovett8350 not too much clay though. In my backyard I got clay under about 2 inches of dark soil and lately it is like the dark soil is gone. I grew some vegetables for a couple of years and now nothing will grow normally. Everything pops up, grows 3 inches and then stops. And with the drought the clay has gotten rock hard no matter how much I water. Working on making some compost but my back only lets me do a certain amount of work before I have to stop. My yard needs organic material badly. I'm so jealous for that lovely soil this man was digging.

I only recall 8 tools: chain saw, hatchet or ax, rope or string, mini sledge hammer, chinking foam applicator, carpet knife, shovel, wheel barrow. Besides the drone and blow up kayaks, i only recall you bought a wood stove, heat insulation board and reflective wrap, pvc pipes, metal flue, nails, tarps, 3 windows, and a table cloth hahaha. Most places in America we'd need to rent a backhoe for a week to dig that trench as long as we don't hit bedrock. We might have to haul in a truckload of dirt. Not a big deal. You're still under $5000 for a nice underground cabin especially on hunting land. I just kept thinking about the spiders that would try to cozy up in my warm sleeping bag at night. That happened to me hiking the Appalachian Trail. No thank you. So I'm adding Ortho Home Defense to my list of supplies.... Hey no judgement!

I noticed people get into a thought that logs that are large are needed to build a shelter, like that of a log cabin house, but that large of a log is definitely not needed, it just requires much more work from you to build like that, remember a house is framed with just 2X4 wood, and that is even spaced 16 inches apart from one another, so if a house can stand for years with just 2X4 timber, then those massive logs your building with are definitely over kill for your structure, think about it, if you could build your whole structure with logs only 4" round, how much quicker, you could build it, and with far less effort. 🤠👍

As always Alex, you never cease to amaze me. I love your work, and having Sergey there to help was awesome. Everything you do, is incredible. Just the sheer amount of soil, and trees you moves, is truly astounding. It's just like the first settlers that came to America from the European continent, and had to build everything by hand, it's a lost art, and one you are keeping alive The Alaskans in remote areas still utilize those skills, but few others unless they build off grid. You should be VERY PROUD of what you and Sergey accomplished, and I know I'd be honored to have a place you built. My best to both of you and your families.

How does it feel when you sit down to make a meal right after building a dugout? I bet it feels good! Thank you for making your videos, you have inspired me to to want to try an accomplish the same! Much love to y ou Alex for all your hard work you do to make your amazing shelters! I appreciate your dedication and discipline it takes to complete such a structure. ♡♡♡

You both guys can be proud, brotherhood is hard to find nowadays, i haven't tried myself but heard a lot of things from others, not good things. Cherish the time you have together and do amazing stuff hardening the friendship. Mad respect to what you guys have achieved. The "handy work" is dying sadly.

Good thing the ground was sandy loom, not red clay like it is here. You woukd need a backhoe or many weeks of hard labor to dig that size excavation. Good job on your hideahome.

This, to me, is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen on YT. I've seen hundreds of videos of similar concepts, but this one, hands down is easily the most adept, and well put together version of this type of build. Truly. Well done. I absolutely cannot wait to see what comes next. Ever since I was a child I've wanted to have an underground house similar to this, and you two, doing it all by hand is very inspiring. So thank you for that. I've gotta ask though; where in the world are you located where you can just.. Dig a 10ft hole, and not hit a single rock the entire time? I live in Tennessee (U.S), and I couldn't dig down further than 6 inches without hitting giant rocks. (I've tried to dig without machinery several times, damn near impossible) Also, all those incredibly long, straight, perfect trees all over the place really pulls this whole thing together. This is like, literally my dream home, location, and final product all in one video. I've seen a few comments of the other man's name being Sergey, so I'm assuming somewhere in Russia. I cannot express to you, how deeply this struck a chord with me, and how bad I'm considering moving to where ever you guys are to live out the rest of my days after building something similar. I think the both of you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. This truly is a beautiful thing you've done here, and I hope you get all the recognition you both deserve for the effort to bring this to the world, for free. 11/10 video, guys. Thank you again.

Like the video. One suggestion. For the water drain, if you want it to last for many years. Dig down and have it empty into a plastic drum filled with rocks and drilled out with holes. Poor man’s French drain and easy to do given your soil type.

Hello Alex and Sergey, I find your videos so awe inspiring and satisfying. It's wonderful to see such competency and skill, and downright hard work (or Hard Yakka! as we say here in Australia) produce such beautifully and lovingly crafted shelters (homes). I also love to see the drone pics of the nature and surrounds....and the delicious food you cook...yummy! All that digging and sawing and chopping and carrying....you need a lot of protein and carbs to get you through right? ;) I take a great deal of comfort watching you bring it all together, you are doing all the hard work, while I sit in my armchair and relax while I watch...ah!...I wish I had the physical ability to do what you do! Keep the vids coming :)

Where I am from homelessness population wouldnt be such a problem if they allowed people to build things like this or whatever they want anywhere without being penalized. Plus if only the higher ups relaxed on building codes, regulations and fees make it much easier. Sure these can be built in some places and homesteading is a real thing but ones gotta do their homework going through the red and yellow tape finding the right place to do so. ❤
