This is a great Video. This brings back painful memories which i have been enduring. My relationship of 5 years ended 3 months ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.

I am sorry about what you have been through. I have been through something similar and was almost depressed, till I contacted a spiritual counselor who helped me get my ex back and hence my life back

I discovered something like this many years ago. I was a young, struggling single mom and determined to give my daughter the childhood I'd had but I had none of the money or partnership my parents had. So I thought about the things I loved most about that time and it wasn't the toys or material things. It was the sound of the radio playing and coffee percolating in the mornings. It was my mom saying "TGIF!" every Friday morning before school. It was the big Sunday breakfasts my dad made. Tiny traditions. Once that clicked we started making our own. It created a sense of stability that even money can't buy. Because even when we were broke or moved to a new city, the traditions remained. Always. Some to this day! (my daughter is 28 now and we live hundreds of miles apart)

You made me delve back into my life when I was younger. I found a man that accepted me for who I am, and even accepted the fact I was a teenage mom with a young 4 yr old son. We planned a life together and had a child of our own. I was so happy. We had nothing. We were planning and working towards getting our first home together. Cancer took him before any of that came to fusion. My life went into a spiral and I was not happy at all! Alone with 2 children to raise alone. The happy me.. went for walks, spent my free time outdoors hiking & camping, canoeing,it was gardening. It was the simple things that made me happy! Now, I raise orchids, I realized I need to get out for walks and enjoy the outdoors! Thank you for reminding me what needs to change to get back to the real happy me now!

I was happy when my kids were little. How am I supposed to bring that back

  • @kimdenardo1076

Mel I have to say, this may have worked for some, but it doesn't work for different circumstances. For instance: my happiness is when my kids were little. They are grown adults now, one just married and one just engaged. That life that I knew and loved is gone. I have other things to look forward to, but they can't compare to the happiness I felt raising my kids. Can't bring back the old days - only in my mind. Sometimes you just have to endure things. I do believe in the small things. When my son was little he said :"sometimes the best things in life are the little things you forget to notice:.

@1hr 12min mark, you spoke my truth. Need to keep moving, my mind being still or sitting in a quiet place is frightening to me, when you said how lonely it feels, is how I have always felt, keeping busy stops me from having to think about being so alone and unhappy.

To be able to distinguish in every moment the happy moment yes to restore my memory. To have that mentality. Have not come into the world by chance. Thank you Mel for having this conversation. Am self-care not depriving myself, exercise, better diet, love one piece of fruit a day, ready for new relationship with myself ❤

My theory that our brains hold on to the negative things easier than the positive. So with my twins, i would ask them to tell me one thing you didnt like about their day and we would have a conversation about it if needed. Then i would ask them to tell me 5 good things about their day. We would have this conversation on the way home from day/aftercare. Pretty soon there wasn't very many sad or bad things to talk about. Not that there werent any challenges, they learned not to give them total power over their feelings.❤

My problem is that I know exactly what makes me happy. I used to run. But due to a car accident I am not able to do sports anymore. I really cannot do anything of sports. And this keeps me depressed. I tried everything but nothing makes me happier than doing sports.... Especially run..

You are not alone. I am there too. Don’t forget everyday is not the same. Every season is not the same. And similarly our lives are not the same. I was in deep sadness about 20 years ago. And I feel like I am 50% of what I was 20 years ago. Baby steps and we will get there ❤

but what can you do if you're trapped and you can't do anything, because you're tied to your children and you can't do anything because you have no one to leave them with. and I'm starting to be jealous of my husband because he goes when he wants where he wants. and he works a lot and is gone most of the day. I am with the children, 3 children under 5 years old. the story is longer... I try to calm down but I can't, I don't do anything anymore, absolutely nothing for myself and I don't mean vacations alone or spending time alone because that's not what I want, but I barely have time to do it a shower and to comb my hair in the morning. I want to do sports and have the time and peace to be able to draw, for example, but I can't even in the evening, as in the evening my 5-year-old boy wakes up and won't fall asleep without me... and so on. I was thinking of going to talk to a specialist, but I don't think I could do that either, because I don't have anyone to leave my 1-year-old with....😢😢😢

Then explain how to do this when you are in your 60s and you are irrelevant anymore in the workplace cuz you’re phasing out or your friends and family are moved away. My happy time was raising my kids. Being involved in their lives. Doing the parties, the recitals. That’s not coming back
