How To Become A Superhuman - Friedrich Nietzsche (Existentialism)

In this video we will understand how we can all become superhuman, according to the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche lays out the three metamorphoses that the individual must go through to become a Superhuman. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism.
In his book “Thus Spake Zarathustra”, Nietzsche lays out the three metamorphoses that the individual must go through to become a Superhuman. Using allegorical imagery, he describes the metamorphoses as:
01 - Camel metamorphosis
02 - Lion metamorphosis
03 - Child metamorphosis
I hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope these 10 life lessons from Friedrich Nietzsche will add value to your life.
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is considered to be one of the most daring and greatest thinkers of all time. His writings on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence have exerted an enormous influence on Western philosophy and intellectual history. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism, which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent, determining their own development through acts of will. By his famous words “God is dead!”, Nietzsche moved the focus of philosophy from metaphysics to the material world and to the individual as a responsible person for his own life. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote several books like The Birth of a Tragedy, Human, All Too Human, The Dawn, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of the Idols, The Will to Power, The Antichrist, and many more. His teachings have shaped the lives of many people; from psychologists to poets, dancers to social revolutionaries.

I feel Nietzsche is expressing his disgust with the spectator that never breaks the moral code in society and elects to watch instead of take action. We are afraid to put ourselves out there as other's might criticize us otherwise. Just my two cents.

Large Taint hey, this quote is not actually written by Nietzsche. It is not found in anything he published or wrote. It has just been attributed to him in recent years because it carries more weight that way. It’s actually an excerpt from Anne Louise Germaine de Staël’s “German” and is an illustration of how she was temporarily alienated from the normal rush of living, and the actions of those around her seemed purposeless and absurd. I just saw the comment and thought I’d respond as I have looked into this myself previously.

@Large Taint I think this would have to to do with the people who live solely an apollonian life(a life of balance and stoicism per se) but critisize and see with disgust anyone who also enjoys a bit of the dionysian life (a life full of ecstasy, drunkenness, orgies, etc). Both extremes are bad, their should be a balance of both. He explains this in his book "birth of tragedy".

Can I say preach bro. When I was In university a few yrs ago, I loved Arthur Schopenhauer as my favourite philosopher, then Frederick Nietzsche and Blaise pascal. But now I love Frederick more, his existentialism is spot on and those who studied him learned the ultimate power. That ultimate power is to master oneself, without the enhancement and influence of others around you and in society. You see we were all programmed ever since we were children, we were always told what what to do, when to do things, what to say, when to say things. We don’t get to use the brain God gave us. The few that found self mastery, they’re the most fulfilled of this lifetime. Those who master themselves and live their own lives, they’re the most happy ones.

You should really do some research before talking out of your ass. However I do disagree the Christianity is "atheism plus one". The substances I mentioned are for profound religious experiences that are impossible to explain if you haven't tried them. And Christianity is full of wisdom that, without said experience, isn't going to mean much to anyone... and most likely not make any sense either. There's a reason they're illegal, and it's not for public "safety". Both of these subjects deserve your time and attention.

It is hard to attain True Freedom in a society that constantly tells us what to do. However, I consider Nietzsche's philosophy such a valid approach for the Ones who are still able to break up their chains and be themselves. Also, I think that as long as we live in a society; we should strive for Creation because it is the Creator who sets a new kind of values for every human era. In order to become a Creator; first, we should examine ourselves and see what we firmly believe.

Even being an adult we are today, and yet we can choose to revisit our inner childhood to determine what produces our geniuses happiness that before shall be fixed on the judgment of what is good or evil. How much I enjoyed being a child once more, who enjoyed building things with legos, explore throughout terrain environments, and on rare occasions how I write things excepting so many goofy mistakes, misspelling, and so on. A sincere question for you ... the development described by N sounds marvelous for an individual on a desert island, but what if one’s new values are sociopathic, or even murderous and torturous? How does N guide the full realization of the individual Ubermensch in relationship to others, whether Ubermensch or unrealized? Did he unwittingly take for granted that the new self-realization would, in effect, be made up of many of the dragon’s values common to the Judeo-Christian society into which he had been born? I’m wondering about a practical application of his ideas . Looking forward to an answer, thanks

I may be young so self assigning this thought process to myself would be unlikely to be true. But, due in part to how I've grown up and perceived the world. I find many similarities to me in this. However, I've almost never been able to fully quantify or verify to others what I mean by my morals or beliefs. Simply because what I do is by principles written by myself in my own mind. Yet whenever I practiced these in the real world, other to bear witness to it feel alienated by me. It disheartens me that not many others out there share this with me yet due to my young age of 17. But I'm glad to see there are those out there similar to me. It shows my development was not wrong in any way, and I am grateful for that at the least. 😋

Existential dread was my life for a long time...go out and find someone who needs to be seen, find people who you know deserve to smile more, and give them better days to whatever extent ability and situation allow. I still have bad days, but instead of thinking of the end when I close my eyes to sleep, I think about the fact I made someone smile who deserved to, that all may be chaos on the largest scales but all you need to do is pick a few places to make your stand and tame yourself a little pocket in that chaos. Help is other people, those suffering for meaning can help those suffering from circumstance.

"Never forget my experience as a Child." - Me. That point of view has been with me all my life. I was 4 years of age when I actually uttered the idea, understanding it was within me from birth. At 68 years the idea appears to surprise Some, and inspire Others. My Parents made it clear They embraced me and my ways, and still guided me when necessary. They gave me space to be mySelf. There's a distinction regarding acknowledgement and acceptance. My Parents and I more so discussed personal responsibility and accountability, understanding that personal relationships would be experienced throughout my life journey. They knew I'd follow my Own path. I do. With my Parents' assistance, the ideas presented here were easily understood since Childhood. The allegories make sense.

Yeah, I'm re-reading Nietzche. What first struck me on the first reading was this false worlds behind worlds idea, like what you see is what you get. The other was women are shallow warm seas, whereas men are deep oceans. It rather reflects another of my childhood interests - Dune. Anyway, that aside, I'm now trying to get a grip on the ubermensch thing. I must say, only being into the prologue of Thus Spoke Zarathrustra at the moment, this "blink" thing certainly resonates. My real problem with philosophers like Nietzche is they live in a protected environment; I'd like to see a philosophy coming out of Stalingrad or a holocaust camp. It's all well and good theorising about the human condition when you're well fed and provided for, one reason I like Dostoevsky and Hamsun.

It appears that astrology can be read at least two ways: first and most legitimate would be psychological astrology, 2nd, which is the kind of astrology that gets the most criticism (and for good reason) would be basically fortune telling or prophetic astrology. The first system is more discriptory and analytical (like learning what planets and signs signify) while the second system is essentially divination (reading into aspects and predicting when in someones life something will happen). It seems like Nietzsche knew about the system, but criticized its common usage by people who sought to profit from soothsaying. Although I am not an expert on Nietzsche by any means.

If you're not willing to pay for your subscription to KZread then you'll have to deal with the consequences of that non-commitment.

@@FolkMetalProject As an ex miitant athiest, and now born again christian,I am also a theologian, and as such, have read and written on almost every philosopher, from presocratics to the modern era.I have also an extensive background in medicine, economics, chemistry astronomy..the list is quite extensive, with over 700 textbooks, many several THOUSAND pages, such as my compendium of neuroscience thesis.Beyond that,I have practical business experience as my family owns a textile mill, which I presently manage and operate and which required textile engineering studies. But my true passion is cattle ranching and real estate. But back to your "nietsche".His views, many misunderstood, failed to produce real life fruits, other than nazi ideology and insanity of many of his followers and himself.I have folowed the teachings of Christ and have been empowered beyond what can be expected of a person. At 56 ,I compete in bodybuilding and powerlifting, getting stronger as I get older,my mind is euphoric almost permanently and my family life is ablessing from heaven. Can any nihilistic philosophy give ME what God has given me? NO.
