One rule I follow is: "Not to get into arguments with people online". No one is going to change their values and opinions based on a argument they had online. Save your time and energy

Yes and no. I have found myself change my opinions at times because of an argument. Not right away, because at the heat of the moment you want to stand your ground. But sometimes, down the line, I have found myself remembering the argument and seeing where I was wrong. I know it's petty, but it happens. I do think people need to remember that they're talking to human beings and have conversations instead. The way people write to one another... non of them would have the courage to speak that way to a person standing in front of them. Sharing perspective can enlighten people in great ways. But still an important rule to remember - don't argue! :)

  • @cynthiaVEVO

I agree that it can be frustrating but I think this is something that you just have to accept and move on and simply not care. People will do as they wish and if they want to post a photo where they look great (and perhaps you don't) then so what. Why should we care if other people see an unflattering photo of us? Strangers opinions of how we look doesn't affect us in any way and can't be changed, and our friends who know us know how we really look, both the flattering and unflattering sides. Unless you want to argue/lose a friend, there is no point because if it really is such a bad photo of you - they will know it too, and clearly don't care. That's my opinion.

But this is because Anna has not such a clear contrast in the colours of her face that could use such a bright pink. Her natural colours are way more subtle and smooth, so a fade pink would serve her beautifully. She's doing a good job to lighten her face to match the strong colour of the sweater, but it is indeed room for improvement in her garderobe :-)

So now I umplug early in the evening, it allows me to watch something soothing and have dinner in peace, and that is the reason why I finally have a healthy rotine in my life. I even lost weight because of it. So if someone sends me a text at 10:30 p.m., sorry it's too late for me. And I really don't care if this boundary makes people mad. I would wake up tired and be a little unproductive. I have changed my schedule when I speak on the phone, and the individual has said to me on more than one occasion that I am difficult to get a hold of and not used to talking to me like we used to. I simply stated things are not the same. No matter how many times I say it, it seems as if the individual does not care. That individual just wants to have access to me whenever it's pleasing.

I'm older.. ie: been on the net since the late 70's... things have definitely changed. For instance it was never, ever, appropriate to post a picture of anyone but yourself. It wasn't even appropriate to have pictures of other people in a digital album that could be accessed by anyone but yourself. And it was a huge taboo to post picture of your child. As for a "friend" posting a bad picture of you. Not only is that NOT a friend but I've seen it done and it has told me volumes about the poster... a picture is worth a thousand words thing... and that's someone I would stay way far away from.

For a long time I thought I was too sensitive for being offended as people claimed to be giving those comments as “friendly advice”. Therefore, let’s think twice before giving our advice, especially when it is not asked from us.

    1. I love yout channel you are like the girlfriend/sister I never had. When I watch your videos I end up felling empowered but in a different way, like really really empowered not the "I don´t need a man-I´m a goddess and all men are trash" kinda way. But in a very feminine powerful way. 2. About your video format: I personally like any of your formats, weather you´re getting ready or just talking to us it´s ok with me 3. About whatsapp etiquette: I think the etiquette is for the person sending the whatsapp not for the person receiving it, because if you send a message you don´t know what the other person is doing, unless is an emergency or a really urgent message then yes, but if not, then you have to understant that people are living their lives, they are not waiting for you to send them a message. I´m not saying to be rude and don´t answer any messages, but sometimes people are busy working, studying, sleeping, eating, and we need to understand that. 4. About giving unsolicited advise: I understand what you mean, but sometimes you as the unsolicited advise giver you want to share new infromation or tips with other people, so I think you should always ask for permission for example: dear friend you look amazing with this dress but I have a tip that will make you even more beautiful, may I share it with you? 5. About filming in public places: I think it´s ok if the people around you are far enough that we the viewers can´t tell who they are, for example I can see that the people around you is a black man or a latina or a tall girl but I cannot see their facial features. If they are close enough that I can see them, then I believe you have to blur their faces. 6. Sorry for bad english!! Hugs and kisses from Mexico.

I grew up to believe that it's actually illegal to take any kind of footage of a person without having permission first, let alone posting that footage for the world to see. When I was at school and we had celebrations or went to trips or had to have our picture taken for calendars or whatever, parents always had to sign a document that they allow their child to have their picture taken. Parents had to sign it because minors under the age of 18 cannot make such decisions for themselves, legally. So if this applies to children (at least in my country Bulgaria), why not to adults as well, even if it's your friends?

I feel like it gives a type of "exclusivity", so to speak, image. Like you have to have my phone number to contact me and you do not know anything about my life from photos you see, so there's also a sense of "mystery". I know that in this day and age it feels like if you do not have instagram you do not exist but... it has been working well for me, I've been focusing more on developing myself 😊 Lots of love xx

I've corrected you in one of your last videos, not to validate myself but because you pronunced an italian word so cutely it made me giggle, and the reason it sounded cute it's because it has a new, strange accent and I justified the diversity by writing the accent (we don't have lots, so it's difficult to learn and we italians speak differently from region to region) I'm the one who 'correct' people but I don't see that as a rude gesture and I don't mean it, I like a lot when someone does that to me because it means I'm receiving an information that can be useful. It gets annoying only when someone is trying to make fun of me, being passive aggressive maybe. To my part, that's not the intention and I don't think of it before 'correcting' someone simply because being corrected it's something I generally appreciate. I'm not sensitive when I make little mistakes, for me it's like stumbling and a correction it's like someone helping me standing again, but I understand being in your position you may feel more pressure. If I've added on that pressure, I apologize.

Anna, it's a delight to have someone like yourself with honesty; thank you for making this video. You’re the only influencer who has ever shared this topic with us.💜

I think that you are absolutely a wonderful influence. I've watched several videos and I was so pleasantly surprised how much you are encouraging others to be kind and respectful, not only to others but also to yourself! Also, I admire how you are able to explain some of these stereotype type things with style, dating and so on with logic and grace. Love it. Keeping women positive!

I think when it comes to the grammar police situation that you’re mentioning, I think sometimes people feel the need to correct someone who they feel offended by. For example if you say something that comes off judgmental and you’re not even using proper English or whatever language it is you’re speaking the person might feel like how dare you try to tell me something about myself when you can’t even speak the words properly

I think I missed that part about reporting people who take your photo without permission. May I ask how do you report these people?

Such sound advice as always! Your caution about posting too much "misery" is right on. I often get posts relating to animal cruelty, which I care deeply about, but if I come across a horrible graphic image without warning it can ruin my mood for hours. I don't always want to be brought to tears in the midst of my busy day.

I love these more personal type videos. We've all caught a glimpse of your clothes closet in the reflection of the makeup mirror behind you. I would love to see a tour of that closet! I would also like to know the model of the car you drive. I love, love, love your channel and your message and I am going to enlist in your program after the holidays are over. Thank you, Anna, for being such a classy lady and the inspiration you give to so many!

Your comment on "oversharing" people is so sweet. I also think we should think about it that way in order to be kinder to one another. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful advice. 💗 Thank you for putting yourself in the spot light that many of us don't have the courage to do. It's easy for people to say negative, rude, or unladylike things when they are hiding behind a glowing screen from their couch.

✨Wonderful content/subject✨, dear Anna. My approach to social media is if I wouldn't say it to your face in your sitting room then why would I say it here on your page? In both scenarios we're guests of yours and I try to behave as such. 🌹

You brought up some great points. I was once a professional photographer, and it did become a headache, getting the necessary permissions - and in writing, no less! You never know a person's story - they may be at an innocent event but told their friends they were too busy to go out rather than hurt their feelings. I would never post anything without blurring a person's face, at the very least. I am so appreciative that you addressed this. Enjoyed this so much. Thank you!

Great points Anna, which I too follow when on social media. In regards to filming in public places: it’s all about respect to other people. There are a lot of people that have chosen not to put their lives in social media & don’t want to be on there so it is with this in mind, in my opinion, that you should always ask their permission to have them in the social media filming/feed. For instance, that person may have called in sick to work but it was not sickness related (if their boss sees them then they may lose their job due to this) or maybe they had turned down an invite & they are shown on social media doing something else. It’s all about choice & respect in my opinion. Have a beautiful day Anna. Xxxx
