You know the actor who portrayed Jake slowly got fed up with the show, ultimately calling the content disgusting and perverted (paraphrasing), right? I think he probably wrote his character's fate with his own attitude and they slowly phased him out.

I don't think he had a strong case for it (yes, it was racy, but hardly as bad as he made the show's writing out to be), but I respect that he made the choice (although it seemed more like he did what the kids like to do and "silent quit" on the show, versus outright leaving as he eventually did).

We all agree that living life Charlie Sheen style was everyone's dream

it seems that they were just trying her out, then they liked her, and brought her back.

I hate how much Alan hates the hand that feeds him. It’s especially frustrating because he acts like he’s morally superior, but does things as bad if not worse. His disapproval doesn’t stem from his being better, but his jealousy. When he had the opportunity, he even pretended to be Charlie and used the same tactics.

Alan doesn't hate his brother. Alan is just jealous because Charlie manages to get women and money without much effort while he works and works and gets nothing. Also when they were little Charlie used to annoy him and even stole his girlfriends.

@@davidross5593 pray tell. He is constantly critical of what he does, yet has no qualms about being the beneficiary of Charlie’s actions. He constantly berates his brother and criticizes him for things he himself is guilty of. He thinks he is superior, but that’s only possible because Alan is too much of a loser to actually live Charlie’s lifestyle. All these things are pretty well documented in the show.

"That's not love. That's just sex!" Literally the smartest thing I've ever heard from Jake! 😅

Jake is by far the most well-adjusted person on the show😂

Impossible..... I saw Angus T. Jones snapping at a reporter w ho asked him a question... the born again Christian has become quite an A-hole... Even with another kid and Sheen and Cryer having aged that much it wouldn't look good... It would be as big a mistake as Kutcher replacing Charlie... we'll have to do with the reruns and the videos. Besides, no way you can replace Bertha... Conchata was comedy gold..

So many years later and Charlie's boozing and gambling caught ip with him and he's dead broke. Alan has become what he always pretended to be, the chiropractor of the Hollywood elite and is making good money... he is finally successful like he dreamt to be and able to buy the house, except now he takes in his brother to sleep in the guest room Jake moved to Europe with a girlfriend or so and is out of the picture so no need to bring him back... Make him an 'unpaid silent actor like Vera on Cheers and Maris on Frazier so you can make it a standing joke that he constantly calls his dad whom he knows ie doing well asking for money... And to add insult to injury Judith is dead broke too and lost her house and Alan, the Putz that he still is decides to take her in as well... Imagine the writers having to work with that... all three in the same. house and none want to have anything to do with either of them....Evelyn is still the same old hag and sometimes is being dragged into another feud between the three....

One of the best sitcoms to me...

Pretty sure that was all either a mid life crisis, Charlie Sheen style, or Charlie was staging madness for a laugh. We know he's a pretty good actor so could totally pull it off. The girls, the "winning" and monkey blood. I'm sure he was just acting the part for his own amusement.
