It's really weird. Because I'm not even a hipster, and I always get perceived as one. i mean I wear my grandpa's clothes, since he died 8 years ago, and that's only because I want to have him a bit closer to me. And my jeans are tight, but that's how I always have worn them.

Jeremiah I think what makes one a hipster is not what they do but WHY they do it. That's why just looking at someone's clothes might be misleading.

Oh come on, Russian poetry is actually quite fascinating! Most are very enticing in the matters of facing ones inner-most thoughts, and show the reality of human-nature without sugar-coating it. Happiness often quickly fades to despair or anger, and the scenarios are (depending on the person) relatable. This is why it is so powerful. But, then again, it helps to actually know the language...

Hipsters are "Mainstream" but they still insist that they arent "Mainstream" at all. Hipsters are just trying to appear special and having this overwhelming sense of self importance.

Being someone who loves reading, and who gears to go off-grid, and save the ecosystem, I'm completely disgusted by the Hipster culture, it turn "doing things to help humanity" into a fashion statement. You don't need tight jeans, and FAKE glasses to read a few books and to eat healthy. Stop trying to pretend you're down to earth, when you can afford organic, but REAL people can't. Ugggggh.

The only reason I choose to acknowledge the 'Hipster Movement' is because I've always loved vintage or Antique items. My favorite computer is a 1987 Mac SE, I was using a 70s calculator in Algebra I until the batteries gave off a Vinegar aroma, that was no bueno, and I have a 1960s Stetson fedora; but I don't consider myself a hipster, I just like old things.

LOL. Seems I've been a real hipster back during and after high school before I even knew what it means to be a hipster or even heard about it. All that dressing style and mindset, and hating everything mainstream, and loving Russian classics, and hanging out only with people alike, loving natural look and using only mascara and eyeliner since I am a female.

I was doing all these things before this video came out.

I don’t wear boots and slim pants for the irony or to stand out, I just really like the aesthetic. This is funny tho

You forgot the big ear 'gauges' and tattoos, well coiffed beard or 'stache.

God this is too funny, my roommate is a shining example of about the first 5 or 6 steps

the sad part is I like the style. I wouldn't wear something just to look cool though or act like I'm better than others. I just have eclectic taste. if the example person in this video actually liked the style, had a genuine interest in Russian literature and actually made his own butter and does none of those things for attention but out of genuinely interest would he still be a hipster? is it outward appearance or the mindset that makes you a hipster?
