    In the case of Fe + Mno4- this case actually Mn lost 2 electrons .so we can write Mn____ mn2+ +2 electrons

    You add OH- to both H2O’s and you don’t add OH because that’s only for a basic redox reaction

    The H+ here is the property of the acidic solution. If for a basic solution, there is OH-. The only different step for a basic and acidic solution is that, after doing all of those steps (you get an acidic solution), you can turn it into basic by adding OH- to both sides of the equation to neutralise the H+ you got after you did the acidic solution. Hope this helps
