How to Avoid Distractions While Studying Programming
Did you know there's a lot of factors and things that you'll need to overcome to become a programmer that aren't specifically related to coding?
My name is Tim Buchalka and I have put together a series of videos which I call the "Programming Tip of the Day". And basically, each video goes through talking about some of the pitfalls and things that you'll need to overcome to succeed as a programmer, things like overcoming frustration and keeping yourself motivated.
In this series I will also answer common questions about choosing a programming language to learn, questions about your career path and things of that nature. Now there's a lot of other things as well that I'll cover in these videos and I'm also opening the lines for you to tell me what you want me to cover.
Now I've been a programmer for over 35 years so I think I'm real qualified to answer a lot of these questions. So if you do have a question, pop the question in the comments section of this video and I'll do my best to address that in a future video.

No problem!
Please make a video about if someone can be professional at two paths like app dev. with web dev. or app dev with desktop dev.

We all have those temptations!
Thanks for the advice tim but this advice will not work in my case don't get me wrong, i'll tell you my distraction while learning programming. Actually i love programming and programming languages and my biggest distraction is exploration actually when i start learn any new language i really get distracted easily to other languages or Library/Framework let me give you an example when i started learning React (one of the most trending frontend library) and practice some of its basics i move to learn some of the basics of Angular (a great frontend framework provided by google) actually it's common in my case when i learn some java i move to c# when i learn python i get my hands dirty in node.js as well so i don't know what should i do actually it's really difficult for me to stuck on single technology as i told you i love exploration can you please suggest me something or it's just a good practice to exploring other technologies while learning one i know you made a video on that but my situation is really different in my case i love programming. Hope you understand what i am trying to tell you and give me an excellent advice on this.

There is nothing wrong with exploration of new languages / frameworks. If you want to learn a specific language for job purposes, then perhaps allocate 50% of your time just to that language, and then use 50% of your remaining available study time to have fun and learn new stuff - If you need to learn a specific language or framework then telling yourself that you are not going to get a job/promotion without dedicating time to that language/framework would be useful.
I was coding and then distracted by this very video
It may be useful to use headphones and listen to white noise (e.g. mynoise.net/).
Very Nice Video Tim, I'm your great follower, I enrolled 4 courses from your learn programming academy! All the 4 courses are really helpful for my tech carrier ! And I'm belongs to India! Why do you start a branch for your academy in India and especially in Chennai (Tamil Nadu). It will help us to grow lot of Indian students 😁 Try to consider this 😅

Thanks so much for support, I appreciate it. I am open to any discussions of opening Academys in other countries - in your opinion how do you think it would work ?
How do I avoi.. Squirrel! ;)
I dont have any job now, so im free all day at home, i study your course for like 4-5 hours a day by spliting it into small sessions, is that good or it's too much ?

If you are learning, you are fine, but if you are just getting overloaded, you might cut back just a little.

It's perfectly fine if you don't have any other problems with this schedule. In my case i spend 9-11 hours daily on programming and i really loved it. Taking a big cup of coffee, turn on Air Conditioner, sitting on my personal favorite chair and having a high speed pc with high speed internet connection in front of me :D i can spend my entire life in this heaven like environment.

Every person is different - some people find 30 or 60 minutes a day is enough, others can go for huge blocks like Vinay above with 9-11 hours. Listen to your body and brain - in general I'd suggest you stop when you are tired as you are much less productive at that time. If you are frustrated and having difficulty with a challenge, sometimes rest is all you need to get back on track.
I was watching it for 30secs and already got distracted lol sorry. My adhd gets on my nerves lol
I got distracted, while watching this...
I will be frank with you. Nobody becomes a programmer with 15min a day ! I believe probably 1hour a day is a minimum ... But when you said 15min it burst me laughing out loud :) hahahah......
:)
i got distracted while watching this video 🤦♂️
