How To Adjust Mechanical Disc Brakes On A Bike
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Here is how to adjust mechanical disc brakes on a bike. If your bicycle has mechanical disc brakes, they are easy to adjust, and you can adjust them using the drum screw on the lever, for small adjustments, and for bigger adjustments, you’ll have to tighten up the cable at the disk brake caliper on your bicycle. This video shows you how to adjust the mechanical disc brakes on a bicycle, and it is a very easy job to do by yourself. I show you how I adjust the mechanical this brakes on my mountain bike.
Here is where to get a tool kit to carry on your bike:

Concise video with no music: perfect. Tightened my brakes last night and went for an amazing ride over the hills where I live. Felt much safer than I did when my levers were squeezing against my grips. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you! My brakes were squeaking as I rode my new E-bike for the first 100 miles. After watching this video, with two adjustments, there's no more squeaking!

For any other bike problems I suggest you look up park tool, they show you very clear angles and they help you visualize these things very well too
This is how you do it right here. Quick and straight to the point. Doesn't need a 20-30 minute video.

Your genius sir👏. I had watched many videos but they don’t get to the point. Your’s 2:14 mins solved my problem. Thanks
I been watching videos on disc brake adjustment and they all lost me. Tomorrow I was about to take my bike to a mechanic for break adjustment, sixty five bucks including lubrication (on a new bike) and you made it so easy to understand, I put video on pause and went to do it. My wheels are turning smoothly and breaks are working great. Thanks, keep up the great videos and keep it simple at all times. Another channel even mentioned needing a bike torque wrench..... Again, great video.

This is a life saver! I can't find any bike shops that are open right now and i need my bike to get to work. I have no other option than my bike and i was down to one brake as the other was completely loose.
Thank you so much I had this problem for two weeks and I was afraid of Messing it up worse. Thank you so much.

worked on many older bikes but got a nicer one for myself and never had to work on disc brakes before. thank you for the clear and quick explanation.
Thank you so much for this video. Away from home, luckily with tiny bike multi-tool & was able to tighten the brakes, by myself, in minutes, rather than finding a bike shop. Saved me hours of searching for a shop that is most probably closed until tomorrow anyway!
Thank you. I checked out all these other videos that are way longer and still didn't know what to do. Your video is so much better and is clear and concise.
Great video, simple and straight to the point. I saw many videos before this one and they all made it seem difficult.

Andres Delavega he skipped over a few parts like trueing the disk which usually does need a few adjustments. I do it with an adjustable wrench using sight and sound spinning the wheel. Adjusting the static caliper on the inner most side of of brakes isn’t necessarily a bad idea either lol
I can actually learn so much from you, it's simplistic and the way you show and explain it is so clear to understand in comparison to 7 minute bike shop people...
Thank you so much, you honestly made my day with this simple video. My breaks have been bothering me for a solid month now and its so satisfying to have them fixed.

Amazing video, thanks a lot! I have learned the critical parts on how to center and adjust the disc brakes.
just what I needed and so simply done that even I could mange the adjustment, I would be coming down hills on my 20 hr. ebike and realized it was not stopping like it use to and this morning I almost hit a cat that stopped all of a sudden in my path and then I went to youtube to find you and this excellent short to the point video, thanks I feel sage again. Up to 800 miles on my bike and other than this I have had nothing but joy and great exercise.

Thank you! Ive been struggling with my brakes constantly getting looser, so i have been adjusting them up at the handles but i saw that the screw was close to reaching its limit. I imagined there must be some other adjustment. I looked at a couple of places and everyone was talking about adjusting at the handles, not the calipers. Thank you for this video! Adjusted my brake lines and now i can stop without using my feet! LOL. I also got the confidence to adjust my caliper angle because the disc was constantly hitting it, so i centralized it. Then i lubed the chain the pedals, all looking good now.
