How to add a tooth to Retainer by Szara Dental lab

Ғылым және технология

#retainer #teeth #orthodontics
I attempted to make this video over 5 different times. Each time I figured out a better way to secure teeth to invisible retainers and had to completely start over. I used to paint the teeth into retainer and it works but has it's own issues. I used to thermoform teeth but they always eventually fall out. Not to mention move ever so slight when pressing.
I've have been using this exact technique for the last 3 years and have had great success. You can find some of the supplies needed in my Amazon shop. Click link below:

disclaimer a small portion of your overall Amazon sale will go Szara Dental. Thank you for supporting the channel.

    Right when you started I thought about the 3d manipulation to add a tooth, and you went right to it. But the cutting of a channel in the printed model for Mechanical retention like when setting a tooth for a flex partial was a boss move. Super super clever.

    I like how you add the tooth using the tooth library. I noticed you didn't address occlusion. I would recommend Highlighting the opposing arch and turning on the magnet tool in the image viewer. Select your newly placed tooth and using the magnet tool, you can get it to perfectly adapt to the opposing dentition.Turn off the magnet tool and use The robust smooth tool to give yourself a bit of space between the new tooth and the opposer.You'll find that no adjustment is needed when the retainer is delivered.

    are we able to use mesh mixer to check the bite after we create the tooth? or how can we do that? Great tutorial, love it.

    I'm not sure about using meshmixer for checking articulation. 🤔 I know there are other programs that you can do this. Typically if possible (have a lower model) I hand adjust any interference etc

    Hi! Thank you for the informative video. You mentioned two layers of Celoform as insulation (4:19 minutes in to the video) Looks interesting. What is that and how do you apply it?

  • @SzaraDentalLab

    It's called siliform seperator. It's a liquid seperator that you apply with a brush. Let dry and then add another coat. Otherwise the acrylic tooth will stick to the model. Thanks for 👀 watching

    Can you use composite or 3d resin? Or does the jet adhere to the Essex material or is the magic the undercut?

  • @SzaraDentalLab

    @SzaraDentalLab

    Жыл бұрын

    The magic is definitely putting in the undercut and allowing the acrylic to flow around it. I've never tried anything but acrylic. The only other way to that has worked for me in the past is using a light cure seal material like PALA. Not glue, it will always fall out

    3D Resin or a composite would probably work just fine if I had to guess. Again Flowing material around and in a GOOD undercut
