The green led setting makes the sonic feels a lot like 11th Doctor's aka Matt Smith's sonic screwdriver whereas the red led setting kind of pays homage to the War Doctor's aka John Hurt's sonic screwdriver absolutely liking the new sonic so far!

I wonder if the theorys of the 60th Special being a multi doctor story are true and this could be a feature as if a differnt doctor uses the same sonic is matchest what their color sonic was in their seson, other than that i can only think the red geen is the "dampers" and the red is "red setting" as river once said

@@Riptych I think what you're saying about the red setting may be possible, the only reason why I mentioned the War Doctor's sonic is that not because it's red but the bulb on top of the 14th Doctor's sonic kind of looks to be in the similar bulb shape as Hurt's screwdriver so I would kind of like it to think that 14's sonic is a combination of all the modern who sonic screwdrivers we had so far but if I'm being honest I kinda forgot that the modern who sonics besides War had a red setting :P

I just came here to say the exact same thing it makes sense now when river says use the red setting and 10 says there isn’t a red setting and then she says he looks younger. Maybe river is gonna be making an appearance.

Thanks for this, I haven’t got my sonic yet, but at least I know what to do when I get mine, so thanks very much for the heads up.

My sonic just arrived today and I had fun twisting the pommel and switching the settings. This has to be the best sonic in terms of features to date.

Wow! I saw some other people speculating that it had a red setting but I hadn’t seen any actual videos about it yet. Thank you! This may be my favorite sonic so far.

The one thing that would make this sonic much better, is if they made you be able to switch the settings via the clicker at the end

This also means that's the serect settings ars another nod to 12s second sonic that used to original have a red setting along with its normal blue and green settings

That screwdriver toy and the actual prop are way cooler than any other sonic design, especially 15's

I think this just makes it even more evident that the 14th doctor is an amalgamation of many previous incarnations

I just ordered one of these as they are back in stock….stocked it has secret settings and can’t wait to play with them

The green setting sounds alot like Jodie's scanning sound effect from her Sonic Screwdriver a little bit!

Yeah, I can confirm that is true since I just checked on my 13th sonic, and it's literally the same sound you get when you press the button twice, holding it on the second press on 13s sonic

I love the light green setting a lot that one is my fav

Just got mine today and I love it, it’s so cool they included a green setting for the 11th doctor, a yellow one (with the analysing sound) for 13 and a red setting for the war doctor

That is FANTASTIC!!!! I wonder if you held it in for 14 seconds if it does anything? LOL, very very cool…now we just need some way to make them easier to access. Also, the sound you said you didnt know what it was, repairing or something - that is the sound they called “Scanning” from the 13th Doctor’s Sonic when the crystal would spin (on the US version), for what its worth! Can’t wait to get one of these…really want one made of real metal, brushed aluminum, stainless steel, whichever, and preferably one that integrates the Wand Co’s IR Remote features!!!!

I like the fact that it has red green and yellow, it let's think that you can be alot of different doctors just with a different stylev

Found them, green mode is tricky to get to

Hopefully this means that we see multiple doctors other than the 10th and they each have their own light for their scenes with the sonic

i thought for this sonic it would be cool if they implemented a red setting like the did on the river sonic, to find out that they have done exactly that is just amazing.

Wouldn't it make more sense to turn the bottom part to change the settings

@@billyusher4907 there's already a button on the bottom that was shown in the video, all you would need is a way to push it from the outside. The bottom already turns. Maybe the very bottom could press in and press against the settings button

For anyone who's wondering, CO will be restocking this limited edition version in a few months when they start getting the next (and probably final) run delivered from the factory.

it also looks like there’s a yellow setting too as shown in some photos taken by people who got the sonic lol

The light green setting sound effect sounds a lot like one of the standard sounds on the 13th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver. It's almost the same sound, but there might be a slight difference. Maybe that's also why it's "almost yellow."

I think the next color of the (SonicScrewdriver) should, be fluorescent purple colored, or Neon Light-Purple. There has already been colors, of light-blue, light-green, yellow, white, light-orange, and light-red.

Pretty sure you can turn the dial to access these right?

I wish I had a chance to get one :(

CO will be restocking it in a few months, they sold through their first batch way faster than they expected.

mine arrived today i was one of the over eager ones who ordered before 10am. doesn’t holding part of the clicker area down work instead of unscrewing it. I havn’t unboxed mine yet as looking at how much it’s currently worth on ebay makes me afraid to do so. 😂

My only worry with this is thst the top emmiter looks extremely dim, does it look better in person?

as long as you have 2 doctor's simultaneously reversing the polairty so that one is reversing it and the other is reversing it back again and so you confuse the polarity, you're good.

There is none in stock atm

It does, but the light is very dim as the LED is much further down the sonic.

The standard editions don't have the microswitch on the bottom I'm afraid, that was something specific to the Online Exclusive release.

Idk if its just me but u can BARELY see the lighting at all

Still kind of meh on this redesign... It's like they glued bits of Ten and Nine's screwdriver to bits of Eleven's Screwdriver and then gave the hilt the texturing from Thirteen's screwdriver Like, everyone is talking about how RTD is going to take us into this 'new era' of Doctor Who - but this just feels like cherry picking bits of the last few years he liked and gluing them together :P
