well, he lost 7 figures of money.. he publicly apologized.. he's been humiliated at a world level, for a man who seemed to value the respect of the Poker community greatly did he F up ?? seems so.. hard to say if he simply let someone else "dupe" him, when he is a genuine mathematical genius.. i had huge admiration and respect for him, followed his career starting 2002. but... not knowing the "numbers" of your business where bogus.. thats hard to swallow.. impossible ? no.. and no criminal charges were leveled at him, which i think is more telling. i played a LOT on Full Tilt.. i mean a lot, and lost only a few dollars on black friday (not everyone was made whole, and it was truly chump change, so never sweated it ).. you either give people a second chance, or you dont.. not up to be to forgive him. if i sat down at a table and he was there, i would shake his hand, and just move on. are you going to hold a grudge for decades ?? most everyone, from what i just saw, got any money they had in Full Tilt back.. so the harm was.. not egregious by any length. and given how much i loved online poker, maybe it was a good thing i cant play anymore.. lol.. same for Chris Ferguson.. before all this, they were top poker pros in the world. i think the poker game should welcome them back, and just play poker.. dont like the guy ? ok.. just keep it to yourself.. beat them at the table.. not beat them up on social media..

I remember months before the Black Friday shutdown, a few of my withdrawals took longer than usual and I used the FTP points for redeeming a few items (baseball cap and a t-shirt.) Those items never came. I've always felt that these issues, albeit small and personal, were kind of the writing on the wall for FTP's downfall. Poor oversight and shadiness were going on long before the 'Black Friday' downfall.

While they lent their names to the sites as endorsements, they also didn't have much control over day-to-day operations and the entire scheme was suspect if they'd done SOME digging. No story will ever replicate the pure WTF IS GOING ON moment in poker like Isildur1s introduction to high stakes. The cheating scandals of full tilt and even the poker ripper account don’t really compare to throw or a guy appeared out of no where and played not only any high stakes pro, which few would do, but he wanted to play them at the same time 😂 Him crushing durrrr, who was the golden kid at the time, after he took all jungle man’s roll was mind blowing. I’ve never seen a player have so many players rail their games. He was a phenom that turned the game on its head and his story is like a movie plot.

Never knew about this but I was a Poker Stars player back then. I really must have tuned-out after us USA players were banned. To Poker Stars credit they did all the right things to make us whole. I was participating in single table ladder tournament and had amassed 4 entries for the for the 4th round and 8 or so 3rd round - they paid those off based on the tournament pool. At the time I was shocked at how fair they were - no wonder Poker Stars is still going.

Not much was said about Annie who also disappeared from the poker landscape, Though she wasn't mentioned another player who vanished though I don't recall if she was from the Full Tilt camp or PokerStars is Jen Harmon. I hadn't seen her in years until she was in one of the WSOP tourneys featured in Daniel's KZread channel.Howard's style of play wasn't conducive to the High Stakes Poker or other shows that turned an 8-10 hr cash game with multiple buy backs sit n go into a couple 1/2 hour episodes. He was a grinder that folded a ton of hands, who maximized profit and minimized losses in those hands played and wore people down until they made mistakes. The complete opposite of Negreanu, who to his credit has turned his "likeable good natured everyday Joe" personality (along with elite skill level) into 2 decades of being one of the most important and successful players in the world

Just because Howard was good at Poker, doesnt mean hes good at being a business person. Im very peripheral regarding Poker and all of the characters, but i remember when this happened and not all of the details either. It should be said also that even though "the Internet" wasnt new, there were still lots of kinks to work out. Obviously there were other parties that instigated the formation of Full Tilt, and certainly used notoriety to garner support. It doesnt necessarily equate to malice on Howard's, just ignorance potentially. I mean, if talking heads behind the scenes were "running the show" and Howard, Chris, and others were none the wiser, then why should he get blasted forever about it. And i have no skin with him, Chris, or any of them. MC Hammer came to mind except that he just went broke and became a poster boy. A talent that wasnt good at business. Sports stars being broke 5 years after they retire, etc.. Not entirely equitable comparisons, but nonetheless...
