Yup, made me laugh out loud. That is exactly what mine did 22 years ago, no matter how hard i tried he would not leave. I finally succeeded 2 years ago. And now i am public enemy number one and he is out for revenge, legally. I am blessed to be free and healing with so many helping hands along the way. Thanks Rebecca.

I think that's how this mess started. I stopped playing a few narcs games and they flipped out.

The day I stopped playing the games he changed his number and fell off the earth. Which is great because now I have no choice but to break the trauma bond. 💪🏼

There's this grey area or blurred line between the love bombing narc (phase) and when a victim also showers with love affection & gifts...It can be confusing because I know I love hard, and when I am in relationships or just with family members, I wanna show my love by buying things and spending time and nurturing the relationships. But I don't have intentions of hurting, using ghosting, or controlling the person. That's the huge difference... The intention and the motive behind it all.....

Yep! My narc ex said to me, "that's why you're 45 and single!". Nevermind the fact that I've been married before...nevermind the fact that he was ALSO in his 40s and previously divorced... nevermind the fact that I was LITERALLY wearing an engagement ring from HIM when he said it! 😂 It's like narcs don't even hear how foolish they sound while they're spewing. He needed some kind of insult in that moment he felt he was "losing", and couldn't find anything else, so he quickly chose something *HE* considers "taboo" or "shameful". As soon as he said it, I looked at him for about 3 seconds and burst into laughter and told him, "You *DO* know that I don't care about that sort of thing, right? Pick an insult that's actually insulting next time".

This just acknowledges them whichin my humble opinion, is more than they deserve oftentimes We're all entitled to our own opinions, & i feel it's immensely out of order if they try to deny us an opinion... I'd recommend just using the phrases which feel comfortable for yourself... Sometimes waiting for the right time to mention some, is more helpful... But please know & be reassured, you most surely are entitled to differing opinions than the controlling & manipulative narcissistic folk Hope this helps somehow God bless you ✨☘️🙏

They hate it, but so far so good, my wife has left the house and to date hasn't kicked up too much fuss. Quite surprised to be honest. I now communicate with her on an even footing, without emotions.

Get out of their game and shut them down!

Wonder what they do when you play mind game's with them better? Attorney did. Only it truthfully wasn't a game or a threat. A promise to file further litigation. I should be able to hear narcissists temper tantrum in two counties away.

Shutting them down is more challenging being that narcissist is your mother. Who has raised you a s your sisters all of whom live with you and contribute nothing to the mortgage. And the minute you stand up for yourself, create a boundary, there is something wrong with you. I feel so stupid sometimes. You think being a paralegal I would know better. I got out of one narcissist relationship with my former boss. Now I have to with my family. I have to say no contact with my mother drives her crazy. I feel like I am on a never ending treadmill.

Shut. Them. Down. Disengage, zero reaction or response. (Not even positive.) Having a great lawyer or court advocate by your side can make all the difference. Practice what you have to do before engaging (although using 3rd parties can be a lot safer), write down exactly what needs to be said or questions you need to ask. Practice self care! Every slayer needs good armor. Be at peace, or at least accept, that the narcissist likely won’t say or do what is required or needed-unless it’s conducive to their own goals. You can do it. And once you’ve gotten through it, had the rose colored glasses taken off, and recognize the red flags- you will begin seeing people in a whole new/healthier way. You are responsible for your own happiness, so plant your own garden-don’t wait for someone else to bring you flowers. Peace on you and yours.

You always empower me with your wisdom! I wish I would have had you instead of my Christian marriage counselor who for the year I used him was clueless to what I was enduring. My ex also had the therapist fooled! I thought it was me until I started healing after the divorce! Thank you for bringing freedom through truth! 💕

Oh yes he ran up lawyers fees and I didn’t even have one. I called his lawyer and went in and signed off. I didn’t look for him afterward although it took me some time to no contact. I’m no contact now and healing every day.

They do not read everyone well. I had a woman who wanted things from me who did the profuse compliments (awkward, uncomfortable) thinking I would eat it up. I hated it. She even later tried to say “I” thought too much of myself and was a big “no one” in “her world” (so why was SHE always calling ME and I never called her?). I had had a career in the intel community, so had routine psych assessments so I knew and had proof I had zero ego problems… and she eventually tried to do the no one else really likes you but I am your (one) true friend routine, etc. When she could not control me, she picked a fight out of nothing to make her walking away my fault. I went grey rock a while before that so I was relieved when “she cut me off”. Buh-bye. Hard to isolate an introvert, loner, so she lost. Narcs do not understand that type of independent-minded person at all. They think their prey is one-size-fits all. And I love the fact that after trying to control who my friends were, then resorting to insulting me constantly, telling me I was no one, my ego was too big because she knew I only did things for attention, not activism to actually help people, which she had “complimented” me on at first saying no one had done as much to try to help a certain set of people (for free), then tried to tear the efforts down, she feigned being insulted by nothing, then tried to guilt me into how badly “I” had treated her “when she had only ever been a good friend to me”. Right.

It’s amazing how easily I was taken in by this person. No matter how “smart” you may think you are, as a male who gets targeted by an attractive female narcissist who also happens to be your primary care physician, you’re at a distinct disadvantage … especially after she has put you on antidepressants in order to control you, even your sexuality. Talk about grooming. 👩🏼‍⚕️👺

If there’s anything I learned in this whole experience is that the family law court system is completely fucking broken five minutes is all she needs to ruin your fucking life
