How the Food You Eat Affects Your Skin & Gut 🍞🍦🍉 (ft. Mandi Nyambi)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

🔹 Mandi shares her simple recipe for clear skin in Pt.2 here: • Delicious Dairy-Free R...
We all want clear, radiant and youthful skin right? ✨ What if we told you it wasn't about skincare products or creating the perfect skincare routine? What if we told you everything you need to clear your skin was already inside you? Meet your long lost friend the gut microbiome 😉 In fact, it's not just one friend, we each have billions of friends! Today we learn all about the skin and gut axis, what and how the relationship forms and what we do to break down this precious relationship. We explore everything from how the foods we eat, sleep we get and what stress and anxiety can do to throw all these bacteria, fungi and microscopic organisms living inside of us off, that show up on our skin as skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis and more!
Ro shares her past experiences of poor eating habits/dieting and how that greatly affected her moods and body fluctuations and Fel revisits a jolly time where she challenged herself to a food challenge and wound up bedridden 💀
You'll want to watch till the very end because this is probable the more important themes of learning about our own skin, body and mind!

@@Fae_van Replace it with sweet and healthy substitutes, you can find a lot in a local health store like Holland and Barrett's. Maybe once a week treat yourself to a sugary snack, so you dont feel the need to give up and indulge on a lot at once 😎👉👉

@@Fae_van Just wanted to give you some examples of healthier sugar to start with. Raw honey, maple syrup, dates and other unsweetened dried berries. The refined sugar that we're used to consume goes into your bloodstream very fast and after that sugar high wears off, it'll leave you very tired and craving for more sugar. When you take healthier sugar, I find the dependency in sugar decreases over time. I put some honey in my morning lemon water, only one or two dried dates in my oatmeal, and I'll eat one or 2 portions of fruits during the day. That's about it for sugar. That plus cutting down the carbs really helped getting rid of the craving for sugar.

This video wasn't long enough! I'm so happy to hear in the end that there'll be another video with Mandi. I really love her energy. Down to earth, fun, laid back and really knows what she's talking about. Being born in China, where the Western medicine and the traditional Chinese medicine coexist, I'm very happy to see that more and more people in the Western science and medicine world starting to see the evidence that sometimes the issues on one body part is a reflection of the health of other body parts. It makes people start to understand that the body functions as a whole and sometimes we can't just treat the symptoms without treating and understanding the underlying cause

This girl is AMAZING and so knowledgeable, but for those of you who are Celiac or Gluten free do to necessity: quinoa, buckwheat, oats, amaranth and brown rice are great for those who need to be gluten free. The gluten free aisle in more grocery stores now have great options if you don’t bake. Quinoa not only is a grain but also a great source of protein.

it's so crazy how everyone reacts to junk food so differently. I know people who eat processed food all the time and don't have acne AT ALL but have gluten intolerance, don't have acne but have psoriasis and/or eczema, have cystic acne but thin body frames. For me as I get older, I get more sensitive and more likely to get forehead acne and rosacea. I used to not get why old people cant eat too much spicy food or fried food or sweet things but now I understand I do because I am one of the old people now! Or how working out is a necessity to be strong for everyday life, not just a "nice to have."

I've been WAITING for a video like this! I was sick back in December for weeks and eventually had to resort to antibiotics. I knew my skin would suffer but not that bad (at least that's what I hoped) buuuuut my worst nightmare happened. Ever since then I've been trying to get my skin back to normal; my skin has had a lot of flare ups, tiny little bumps, and white heads everywhere. It's the worst acne I've had since I was a teenager. Relating back to your video, I've been looking beyond skincare and looking into the foods I eat along side with adding supplements/vitamins like pre/probiotics. I'm truly grateful for this video, you have no idea! Best video I've seen in 2020 so far, thanks for sharing :)

I love that you all covered this. All the products are just the icing on the cake of skincare. Food has had the biggest impact for me - more than any product. For any ladies who are wondering if you need to work on your gut - if you get chronic UTIs, yeast infections, or BV AND you have acne, you probably need to work on the gut. These are bright red flags and are directly tied to your body's microbiome. Once I started focusing on my gut all these things dissapeared for me!!
