Skipping a meal is no big deal as long as you don’t substitute it with sugary junk food later. I love eating breakfast but I skip lunch and I don’t snack. So, a low carb breakfast at 7 am, coffee at 10 am, green tea at 3 pm, and a low carb dinner at 5 pm. Then I fast until the next morning at 7 am.

@@kristelbrok998 That's when they become seriously ill, too much sugar. Their pancreas overworks to the point when it just can't do the job, it's killing them, damaging their small veins in their eyes, their smaller limbs and and eventually their feet and legs until they have to be chopped off. Their kidneys and liver can't take the sugar. It's not just glucose that people eat, but it is just glucose that doctors measure. It's fructose that makes people fat and bears too. (in case you didn't know it) and both including the serious problems that all man made foods are causing. The other serious problem is oils made from grains and nuts. Now they're making milks out of the leftovers. Anything to create a market from that crap. It is un..,. natural. Milk comes from a tit.

That depends on your goals. It's not better for building muscle that's for sure. But people think about exercise the wrong way. Diet is for weight control while exercise is for strength. That doesn't mean you should not do a form of exercise. It just means you need both, proper diet and exercise. We know people that are inactive and weak don't do well in their later years. Not being able to get off the floor or out of a chair when you are older is due to a lack of strength. That also doesn't mean you need to kill yourself in the gym trying to look like a bodybuilder but you do need to stay strong and lean to live a long enjoyable life.

How are you going to keep the weight off after letting your muscles atrophy and crashing your BMR? Losing weight without also building strength and endurance is a recipe for disaster. Dieting is bullshit; it implies something you do for a limited amount of time. To permanently lose weight, you have to change your habits: how you eat and how much you exercise. To be healthy, you need to live like a healthy person.

That's the biggest thing. Being sedentary, and it's no longer a matter of eat meat or not to eat meat (though I understand, with having hormonal issues myself that I need to limit carbs, at the very least be mindful of the ones I eat), but I've come to the conclusion that by far the worst thing people can do is have a diet that is mostly take-out/fast food and highly processed crap. It is the root of most of our illness and obesity and this obsession with eating and food. Also our portions (in the US) are just TOO much. We are told to eat TOO MUCH, too many times a day, and ppl drink calories too much.

It does matter where your calories come from. Carbs 4, Protein 4, Fats 9. 9 grams of Carbs = 9 grams of fat. This is not true. The other thing that is not true: If you burn off more calories than what you take in.....(not true because if your eating sugar, fructose, muffins, donuts, pies, cakes, cookies, ice cream etc) even a couple times per week (and huge amounts of juice and other simple carbs) even if you can measure what your burned as opposed to what you took in....you'll never lose it. Because with the food I stated above etc you've created 'Fatty Liver' Disease and Insulin Resistance (your Liver and Pancreas work together in harmony) Potassium and many other minerals are critical in the body for your liver and pancreas etc to work good. Most people will never get enough Potassium (minimum 4,500mg per day) or other nutrients. When you compromise your liver and pancreas you have a lack of potassium and other I in the body. It snowballs and gets worse. If you drink too much alcohol it adds to the equation and puts even more stress on the liver etc. If your overweight or obese you should not drink any alcohol if that while your trying to get better. After you lose the weight and your blood numbers are in a good range then you can drink (1 ) glass of dry red wine a day (Cannonau Wine from Sardinia)----which is the best red wine in the world!!! Best for Anti-aging. Best to lower your Triglycerides and LDL and live longer! Protects the heart and is good for the blood. Or, you can take: Optimized Reseratrol (or do both).

I did count calories to loose weight, I tested for months how many calories would sustain my weight over a period than I subtracted 500, now I lost about 18Kg in 10 Months. True is that we shouldn't obsess about calories, but counting is a good way to get a feeling which food has how much of which nutrients. I wouldn't do that for my whole life and sure there is a risk to get an eating disorder. But when you do it right you actually can loose weight sustainably. Of course it should be a healthy diet mixed with regular sport and the deficite of calories shouldn't be very high, also important that you eat not too often, for me 3-times a day is right, some do 2-times, and no snacks just your set meals! What I learned is that there is no way you can have the perfect diet but if you do eat mostly healthy it will also work. And occasionally of cause you can eat in a restaurant or go for a drink, as long as it isn't every day you will reach your goal. Also what these people say is sometimes kind of paradox, very fat people have often metabolic syndrome, an eating disorder and often lack of knowledge about nutrition and body functions, so even if all they say is right, how does this help any fat person to loose wight and get healthy. You need something to hold on and set boundaries, counting calories without obsessing about it is the answer imo. Also: no suggar, no sweets, more fiber, not too much fruits, wholegrain foods, enough protein and more unsaturated fats. Voila

I think the most realistic way to be aware of your caloric intake is to track your calories and macros every once in a while on a typical day to check how “on track” you are and adjust accordingly. You don’t have to do it every day, but the more you do it the more you get a general idea of how many calories you’re consuming on any given day. It’s almost impossible to be 100% accurate, so being meticulous about it is probably going to do more harm than good, either causing you to give up or get way too obsessive.

*THE SECRET TO LOSING WEIGHT* Cut out all carbohydrates from your diet. Carbs raise your blood glucose. High blood glucose causes insulin levels to rise. Insulin is a "fat storage hormone" and if your insulin levels are elevated all food intake will go towards fat storage. You do not need to count calories, only carbs. I challenge every person reading this to cut out all carbs from your diet for 30 days. Eat as much food as you want, eat as many calories as you want, but eat zero carbohydrates and I will bet you that you will lose 10-25 pounds (1-1.5 stone) in only 30 days without fasting, without starving, and without exercising.

Very interesting information, though İ m confused what to eat now..hahhahaha even if all what they said is logic...so overall..we should pay attention to the portion size, no sugar or reducing it..and İ definetly believe in physical exercising...even though it's tiring and unpleasant but it works eventually..moreover it's good for the heart.

Eating breakfast helps you control blood sugar? And then they they show slice of bread with some jams? If you eat that your insulin levels will jump a lot and as time goes by and sugar (read: energy) levels drop you will start to feel more and more hungry and you will eat again (most likely food that has a lot of sugar) to get your energy back. I have been intermittent fasting for the past 7-8 years and I have never felt hungry in the morning. I only feel hungry about an hour after lunch. So I do OMAD here and there and i never feel hungry, I come home from work, do my training and have a nice dinner packed with meat and vegetables and I feel better than ever.. Most of the times I am not even hungry in the evening but I know I have to eat after gym so I have a big dinner.. Fasting is the best thing you can do to your body, 16-8, 18-6, OMAD, 36 hour fast or even longer..

Ya eating anything like that as your first meal of the day is setting you up to crave and be hungry all day. that's the worst advice! I can't believe people still really think that fat and animal products are unhealthy. Well, the least processed ones are best. You wouldn't be bad to have something like simple egg and veg omelette, or even eggs and some steak or bacon, sausage. Even avocado toast (but would need to be on a higher quality bread like a flourless ezekiel bread or real sourdough) with egg. People just don't understand hunger and how it's influenced by blood sugar and insulin spikes and drops.

What they are saying is technically correct, or almost true. But these broad statements can be misconstrued by someone who isn't educated on the subject of health & fitness. That's because too many people 'dumb it down' to simply the number of calories. People also tend to overestimate how many calories they burn (when working out), and can underestimate how many they eat. But you're right, one of the biggest factors that most NEVER talk about is where the calories come from, and their subsequent effects hormonally in your body. That 1000cals of meat is far less inflammatory and detrimental than the 1000cals of a carby/sugary thing. That meat won't give you the insulin spike to bring down high blood sugars. And while your insulin is up, it's tellling your body to not only store excess sugar as fat, but until it comes down to a normal level it's also impeding your body from being able to access it's current fat stores for that period of time. This is also why a lot of people who are thin, but eat mostly carbs and sugars, have that soft, squishy 'skinny fat' thing going on.

There is no fat or oil that has no saturated fat. Coconut oil, for instance is the highest in saturated fat by far. 95% saturated. Whereas lard is 45% and butter is 55%. Olive oil has 17% saturated fat. You cannot get away from it no matter what you eat. So if you assume that saturated fat is the solid one, you have it all wrong.

Not happening! Any amount of sugar from unnatural sources should be avoided. Sweeteners are save, especially if you don't include sugar in your diet (because sweeteners make your guts more sensitive to sugar) and they do not rot your teeth. never got rid of my teeth problems entirely before I finally switched all sugars with sweeteners because I'm a sweet tooth and can't live without sweet taste. Also coke with sugar tastes awful and makes your teeth sticky and the taste in your mouth fowl. Diet soda doesn't do that. The sugar is the problem.
