    I get a sales pitchy vibe from this. After he listed his credentials, I then realized exactly why he was so successful in this. With that background and his understanding of his market then absolutely there's no reason why he shouldn't be winning. Great video!

    Yooo!!! This is NUTS to hear that he went to CRAS in Phoenix!!! I almost had the opportunity to go there when I lived out in PHX years ago with my Grandmother and we both did a tour of the school there and had a blast of how they teach music there and all the ins and outs of how things are made for movies and engineering courses!!! God rest her soul but that was one of the key memories with my Grandmother and I when we once lived in Arizona together which I actually fueled the urge to get my GED through this free program I was going to at the time so I can actually get into CRAS and have that knowledge to become an intern at any studio in the nation right after which CRAS has a huge helping hand in setting up right after you finish from their school.. Wow that was super crazy to hear the name of that school after soo many years..

    Hello. Would you please explain how your computer is set up? Are You PC or MAC based? On my computer (PC) - Serum and Omnisphere just once on my computer - is a strain. My "C" drive is filling up. I like Toontrack, Spitfire and Native Instruments as well. Do you use external drives? What's on your "C" drive and your external drives. What is the size of your "C" drive? Mine is 1 TB.

    I’m not with this idea, takes a lot away from the creative side but at the same time I’m glad this musicians been getting revenue, helps he’s won awards as an engineer and has those connections. Not shitting on the base idea but not many folks have the time to do this.

    I share the same sentiment; there's a risk of reducing ourselves to mere production machines, sacrificing creativity in the process.

    You have to really come from a background where you're use to doing salesman work. I truly think the music these guys make is dictated filler music that increases network views. Then I'm not with paying these music licensing coaches either. Nothing is guaranteed in this industry. I'll continue to do music for my personal enjoyment and circle of friends while running my appliance repair business.

    To me, even when they talk about creating sync music it sounds insane, or a robotic existence, but wow I guess they make a lot of money. I have 130 minutes total in two solo piano albums I sold 4,000 CD's back when CD's were on their way out and never toured or advertised. I'm digging them up and wondering if there are services where they would go through it all and pull out short sync pieces that I could sell. Is there such a service? It's all solo acoustic piano. I'm also thinking of trying to sell them in the digital distribution realm. What would be a better idea, sell them in the digital market or the sync market or to do both? Also the machine like sounding element to this how vulnerable are musicians in the sync realm to be highly effected by the emergence of AI?

  • @tapeexperiments

    @tapeexperiments

    Here is my free advice, so take it for what it’s worth! 😂Don’t worry about AI right now. On your piano music,do both -distribute digitally and try to license. I would do the editing yourself or hire someone if it’s not in your wheelhouse.

    @@tapeexperiments Thanks very much for taking the time with me plus from your insider knowledge as I know nothing about this area of music. I think I blew it with CDbaby as maybe my email was too long and too many questions. They never answered my email as I wanted to ask some questions before sending my solo piano albums to them. I still sell my piano CD's once in a great while. I keep cards and letters from people who like my music on my apartment wall as positive affirmations. So you are saying I should try to find someone like CDbaby or maybe DistroKid? I read that CDbaby will try to do several things with your music that DistroKid and Submithub etc... the others don't do and I think it's that "license" part of it you're talking about. I copyrighted both of my albums years ago. They sold out in 2007 and a few years later a friend said burn them on my computer and sell those. I don't have as much money any more so too costly having more made, plus Oasis CD Manufacturing ripped me off $600 as with both albums I paid more to have them "single speed Glass Mastered" meaning they burned onto a 12 inch in diameter master glass CD they said they keep in "permanent storage". I found out the hard way that wasn't true at all. I was going to have 300 CD's made and they told me to mail one of my manufactured CD's so they could make a copy. I told them I paid $300 for each album to have them "single speed glass mastered" then they cut me off and wouldn't respond, or in other words stole my money. One thing they did say is a CD is digital and all ones and zeros and no degradation. They sure didn't tell me that when they sold me in the beginning with both albums at $300 each. Now they avoid me. What do you mean by "license"? Is that different than copyright? I really appreciate your response. I'm hoping my albums sell so I can get out of my rut of just subsisting on meager funds. Thanks for any input!
